Can someone speak to the difference between 2007 STi and 2008 STi coilovers? I found a great deal on some 2008 STi KW's but I have a GD. Wondering if it is a big change or if it's something small that can be easily modified.

I'm looking for complete STI strut assemblies w/ springs and top hats for my 2002 2.5TS (wagon). It says here that (USDM?) 2005+ struts won't fit. But is that true for the JDM v8? What version of JDM struts will fit?

So if you went over a hump and unweight the car the spring will not flop around.

Does the car still look saggy?

Gentlemen,

I wanted to give an update. After replacing the old oem mounts with group n mounts the springs now sit about an inch higher in the rear, as they should. The front has evened out as well. Thanks for being bros.

What is the difference that makes the 08+ sti fronts not bolt up to the 08+ wrx? Is it that the knuckle part is thicker?

And bolt holes are farther apart.

Does anyone know if 08-10 STI or 11-14 WRX front lower control arms will fit on my 2011 Forester?

And likewise, will the GR WRX/STI front swaybar fit on the 11 Forester?

Under 04 STi, it says:

Quote:
All front control arms for 02-07 RS, WRX and STi will fit, except from a wagon. Control arms are aluminum for STi and have greater caster, except in 07 which have the same amount of caster as the WRX.
So 04 - 06 STi's have caster adding control arms. Are the 06 WRX's aluminum control arms the same as the STi's?

Does anyone know if the JDM Bugeye STi (V8) has the same aluminum control arms as the 04-06 USDM STi? Thanks.

The 06 WRX aluminum control arms are similar to 07 STI (meaning different than the caster adding 04-06 STI arms).

On the JDM side, I think you need to get the "Spec C" arms to get the added caster, but I'm not 100% sure.

Can you try and add 2004 impreza 2.5ts or would those be the same as the 2003 model?

Question

Does anyone know which strut bars will fit the 6th gen Legacy (mine is a 2016)?

This thing is a little bit of a funky ride, smooth but I miss my old GC8 2.5RS. First stop, handling. I'd be very grateful for any tips.

thank you

Struts + Shocks

Only 2008+ Impreza specific struts and shocks will fit.

2008+ STI struts will not fit up front.

Springs

Only 2008 Impreza specific springs will fit.

2008+ STI springs are too short. I wouldn't recommend using them. They're also too stiff for stock 08 struts.

Strut tops and Camber Plates

Only 2008+ Impreza specific tops and camber plates will fit.

Rears are 2008+ Impreza specific.

STI tops will fit.

Camber bolts

14mm camber bolts up front.

Strut Bars

Only 2008 Impreza specific front and rear strut/shock tower bars will fit.

Coilovers

Only 2008+ Impreza specific coilovers will fit.

Swaybars and Swaybar mounts/bushings

Not sure on turbo/non-turbo front swaybar compatibility. Probably are not interchangeable though.

Only 2008 Impreza specific front and rear swaybars will fit.

Endlinks

Not sure on front compatibility.

Only 2008 Impreza specific rear endlinks will fit.

Other

Not sure on sedan and wagon differences yet.

Please help me update this section as info becomes available!

Yes, top hats from identical year (or body style) WRX will fit an STI.

Question. I have a 2016 Limited WRX and am trying to figure out a lift. When you say only 08+ springs and shocks fit, is that only in relation to retaining stock ride height/geometry etc? Or will these simply not fit at all? I was curious about newer forester or even crosstrek suspension. I would like to try to avoid spacers as much as possible and have the lift be from coils primarily.

And before anyone starts with "don't lift it," I am planning on taking my Subie from NC to Alaska on a Overland expedition across the US and Canada. I need lift lol.

Thanks in advance for help guys. My head is spinning trying to figure out a good solution.

The 2008+ Impreza section needs to be relabeled to say 2008-2014 Impreza.

I'll do that now. I'm working on a 2015+ section.

For your question specifically though, I don't think anyone has tried it (to my knowledge at least). I think putting 2014 STI struts and springs on your car will lift it, but I don't know for sure. They would have to be STI struts to get the fronts to fit at all. Just not something I've thought about much. Sorry!

2014 STi Coilovers will work. Get a proper ride height adjustable set and lift it up.
