You find anyone to help yet? Do you have a service manual for your car from say Chiltons or something? I've done them on the sohc EJ 22. I haven't done the EJ25 yet. Not saying I can't. Just haven't had the need yet. I used to turn a wrench for a living but just do my own stuff and friends stuff now. I have the service manual from Subaru for my 2015 STI so I have their instructions on doing the EJ25 DOHC but that's with the AVCS as well which I don't think you have. What's the timeframe you need to get this done in? Is it working fine now but just approaching mileage where you want to replace it before you have trouble? I have the garage with plenty of tools. Just need time. Work 60hrs a week so time is crunched. Next weekend I'm doing suspension and motor mounts on my 2015 so that weekend is out. I don't need money either.

I have not found anyone yet. I do not have a service manual, but it's something I could purchase or download.

Car is fine just past the milage recommended to replace the belt. I have a spare car im driving at the moment so not in a huge hurry, but would like to get it sorted by early March.

I dont know about not paying you thats taking up alot of your time im sure we can figure out how much you would need. Also i can help on weekdays in the evenings or for a few hours on weekends.

It shouldn't take more than 2-3hrs of a day to do. Getting to it is fairly straight forward. Just need to remove the accessories up front to get down to the front engine cover. I already have the crank pulley tool from Grimspeed. There is another tool for the alternator belt that I think I need though. I think yours has a stretch belt there like my 2015 does. Grimspeed makes a tool to help with its install and removal. The manual would be helpful to have for this and anything else you do on the car in the future. Let me think about cost. I should have time on s Saturday afternoon in a couple weeks. Yo can text me at 6168224966

Hey everyone. I was wondering if there is a thread somewhere or even a Facebook page that folks in our area have parts for sale or looking for parts ?

Kind of a long shot here but do any of you guys have a idea where I could get an svx for cheap? Been looking all over Craigslist across the state and there are only 2. One seems like a scam and the other one I talked with him for a bit but when we got down to price he won't reply.

Honestly, the SVX is something that will show up randomly on craigslist... You can usually find them in the spring or fall (I have only seen a few, but all the ones I have seen were around there)... There was one with a blown transmission for $400 once, and one at a dealer for around $5000 when I bought my Legacy, but the SVX is kind of a hit or miss if you are looking for one because they rarely show up for sale, and when they do, they are either trashed or overpriced or both... This is what I have seen so far

Yea that's what I am finding. I had one lined up in lansing but right before I left to go pick it up the guy sold it. All I really need is the motor, wiring harness, and ecu but even that stuff is hard to get.

Trust me that would be awesome but the complexity of the ez36 is 10 times worse then the eg33. I could go with a Ez30d from a 00-02 outback but it has less hp then the eg33.

I plan on swapping a Ez30d into my Legacy eventually... I personally wouldn't rip apart an SVX though because they are too rare

While they are rare If one is already trashed beyond repair I won't feel as bad haha.

I know this is probably a long shot, but does anyone know of someone in the area who is willing to sell some JDM headlights for a second gen Legacy?

Well shoot! I don't have a facebook. Maybe I'll just have to make one for my car and to keep up-to-date with meet ups. Thanks for the response.

As a heads up, I have an 08-14 aluminum front skid plate and a cheap set of aluminum 17x7 5-100 wheels for sale. Because of shipping, I am hoping to sell locally. I did put for sale ads up on this site with details.

Hey GR guys. I have a 97 OBS in dark blue and silver with around 250k that has a mtx with shot bearings. It is drive able, but I don't know for how long. The engine is super solid. Runs fantastic, in fact. The car comes with 10 month old drum brakes, struts, sti tranny mount & bushings, Kartboy STS. The front brakes, clutch, and stock cat-back, and tires are about 2 years old. The worst part of the body is the rear fenders of which I attempted to fiberglass, but never completed through the lower rocker panels. Everything else is nearly spotless, minus some surface rust spots, broken grill mounts (on the grill), and some cracked paint on the hood from the previous owners mistake. This car would make for great replacement parts. I am asking $700 OBO ASAP. I am looking to make a down payment on a car in the next month. Call/txt 616-643-3504 to come have a look. Thanks.
