Question LongTerm Misfire issue, Any help?

So, the last 8 months or so Ive been dealing with this damn misfire. My car will randomly throw up a P0304 code, but seems to shake at idle everyday. So when this all started, about 8 months ago, I changed plugs, coils, and #4 Injector. Anyways, It was fine for a while but has recently been acting up again in the past couple of months. The CEL will come on every 500 miles or so, but it will still 'rumble/ shake' at idle. Last night, while I was driving home, I felt it shaking more then usual. I figured the CEL would come on, and it did, but this time it started flashing. I scanned it again this morning and its Cyl 4 Misfire AGAIN.
:bang:

Any ideas on what to do? I was thinking about changing the plugs and #4 injector again and if that doesn't do it, I was thinking the valve gap if off and I might need a new spacer. :help:

I know you already said you changed your plugs and coil pack. I would swap plug, coil pack, and injectors with other bank. I problem still there you are down to cylinder(bearing problem). Maybe timing belt but not likely. My .02..

I swapped coil 2 with 4 and still a problem on cyl 4. So it's not the coil. I'm just going to warrenty the injector and put a new one in and I'll also change plugs.
Would it be a bearing problem or just the valve shim is wrong?

sounds like the next thing to do is a compression test on that cylinder since coil, plug, and injector have been replaced.

i had this problem a while back on my bugeye @ about 130k miles. the code started popping up after i went to a vf39 with pink injectors, since the injectors and plugs were new, i ended up replacing the o2 sensor and i haven't thrown a misfire code since...

i ended up changing the o2 sensor by following the diagnostic procedure in the oem subaru service manual for 02-03 wrx.

Could try the grounding mod, worth a shot to even out your sensors... Being as it costs only 20 bucks it's worth a shot
