Default Anyone with OBD-II Scan Tool in Columbus, OH?

Hey everybody,
I just had a CEL pop up at 5900 miles and Byers is claiming that they can't get me in til next week. Problem is that I am leaving for a month on Sunday night (Aug. 19th). Does anyone have an OBD-II Scan Tool that I could borrow to check what code the WRX is throwing. I'm hesitant about driving it around until I know what exactly is malfunctioning. Please reply back or call my cell (614.323.7276) if you can be of assistance. Thanks in advance.

Greg

Greg,
Hello. Byers is starting to annoy me. They seem to have developed a terrible attitude lately.

There are a couple of import only shops around town that might have a Scan Tool.

One of the shops is in Grandview on 33.

Good luck!

Sean

Just drive into the dealer and ask them to pull the code. Unless they're complete asses, they'll have no problem. It takes two minutes, max. When the CE light came on after my exhaust, I just drove into the service department and asked them to pull the code. No problem, and the service tech even came out to explain the particulars of the code (and check out the MRT exhaust).

Now the damn CEL is off! I got into my car at lunch today, and the light was gone. I still want to take it to the dealership. Thanks for your help.

When did you fill up your gas tank last?

Just guessing it is a loose gas cap.

OBD codes trigger after a mishap, but can reset of the condition does not reappear after so many starts. Whatever had happened isn't happening any more (possiibly misfired once, but hasn't reoccured). I don't know if the code will be stores, now that it has cleared itself, but it couldn't hurt to get it checked.
