i didnt think of that being a 2 piece rear rotor, but yeah it doesnt look like the ebrake will work with that.. Im not 100% sure but i've switched my rear rotors on mine/friends cars a couple times and it doesnt look like theres any surface area inside the rotor for the ebrake to work..

The factory ebrake works with that rotor, but girodisc recommends only using it for parking. Mine are arriving tuesday

Hey guys,
Update on the weekend after going to Redline Time attack in Cali at Willow Springs. We finished 4th in class and 6th overall in Modified out of 29 cars.
We were only able to make 8 laps total, 3 laps on Saturday and 5 laps on Sunday. I made 1 actual flying lap in the 1st time attack session and did a 1:30.8 and caught the car in front of me holding me up by 1.2 seconds according to the data ( lap should have been around a 1:29.6ish). I did not realize do to the lack of laps on track how fast I would be/catching him ( I will post video of the out lap and flying lap later today).
We missed the podium(3rd) by less than 1 tenth of a second and 2nd place by less than 7 tenths of a second, so if I would not have caught up the car in front of me I would have came in second, I truly believe.
There were allot of nice cars at the event and in Modified I realized that we were giving every car out there at least 250 lbs (there were cars in the street AWD class 250 lbs lighter than us, my car weighs 2975 lbs) and 2 tires sizes larger than what we had.
Did I mentioned we also still have the AC in the car (Ken from Cosworth, Guy and I all had a good laugh about the fact we did and were competing competitively against almost totally gutted race cars), this is weight and reason for some of the overheating issues we had on the track while making big power.

Teething issues/reason for lack of laps on track:
This was the 1st time the car was on the track at all after the make over, so some teething was to be expected.
1st was a small pin hole in the turbo oil feed line causing and oil leak and small fire
(No worries, we put it out, replace a couple of wires and the oil line. Problem was finding the oil leak and were it was coming from, this took time), we had to find the problem, I did not want to burn the car to the ground.
On to Sunday morning, no more track time on Saturday after the 1st session by the time we fixed and put all back together.
1st practice session on Sunday after 1 lap with 27 psi boost the car would get hot!! Around 225 and the motec would pull the boost back to less than .9 bar to keep her safe (which it did). We adjusted the comps (thx Tony at T1 and Guy (Dynotechnik)) in the Motec to allow 230 ET before pulling back (which is a little scary) and tried again. It still only took less than a lap to get here to hot and start pulling boost back.

So knowing that we only had maybe a 1 lap flyer in the car I lined up last in the Modified cars for the 1st time attack session and I gave it what she had with no laps on the track to speak of, no chassis changes (do to no laps) and watch the vitals of the bullet to make sure she was ok, I laid down a lap that was good for 4th place and this was slowed do to me not leaving enough room of the car in front and running him down/catching slowing the lap.
We have already, ordered a bigger Ron Davis Radiator (to keep her cooler) replacing the Fluidyne and are going to get at least another 100 lbs out of the car making it a little lighter. We really want to keep the AC in her, we are also going to get a 18 x 9 wheel under her and at least a 265/35-18 for a little more rubber.

I will post a video of the out lap and 1 lap flyer of the 1st time attack session late today.

The Brand New Girodisk rear rotors are great!!. No problem to speak and wanting more action. I used the #43 pad and liked the balance well with the Stasis 370mm front brake kit.
Thx,
Dere

Of Course not , But it is still on the car, weight (evil) and condenser stops allot of air flow for a car making this kind of power and then beating on it at the track. I think we actually get it to stay cool with the bigger radiator and better ducting while leaving the a/c on it. If I can do this it will just be the icing on the cake, if it will not stay cool I will yank the ac off at the track.

You could turn the ac on on track to kick the other fan on. Or maybe just a switch to manually turn the fan on, I dont know what help at speed it would do but maybe worth trying out? Thanks for the info about the girorotors. What size are your rs wheels 18x8.5? You should think about a hub conversion while your wheel shopping, save you some expenses in the long run. Good to hear bout your weekend outing. Good luck, whens the next event or are you going to get some more seat time in texas? Harris hill has been open alot this year.

No, the Motec already does this at our pre programed temps, I can turn one or both on when ever I want. Good thought though, at speed it will actually hurt airflow with both on a little bit.

Here is the video with the end of the out lap and onto the 1 hot lap flyer at Redline time Attack, you will notice that we will be working on the part throttle boost, it will build full boost at small throttle inputs. We will adjust this so mid corner speed.accuracy will come up and not over power the corner lateral G threshold (makes it hard to hold steady throttle mid corner).
Enjoy and thx to all of our sponsors, the next event we will attend is Redline time attack at Tennessee. We will be testing locally to get the fine tunning in order.

heat issues suck, don't they?

before my motor popped i was going to remove the AC condensor to help get some more airflow to the radiator on the track and see if it helped, too bad i never got a chance!

What was changed on the car from the first dyno plot to the second that made it more broad?

How are you liking that motec unit?

Any pics of the front of the car. I love the look of this thing.

Great job guys!

I noticed our balancer in your list and that Guy did your harness as well... I may have to get in touch with him about one of those soon.

Tony's catch cans make it everywhere I see... catch can whore! He does incredible work.
