anyone use blouch TD04 19T???
has anyone used this turbo??? i was thinkin about going with it. i don't want much more power plus i want to keep this response i have already. i plan on competing in the auto-x this next season. i have a couple more cooling to do and the rear suspension left and i'll be good to go. would it be wise to use bigger injectors with just an upgraded compressor in a TD04?

Definitely larger injectors for the larger compressor. Even Jerry at Deadbolt recommended pinks for their Monster TD-04 and that didn't have a larger compressor.

I'm also interested in how this turbo performs. The only result out there are Surfer Steve's results though. You should probably upgrade the fuel pump at the same time.

I've heard great things about the Blouch TD04 19T, but always wondered how it stacked up against a VF39 for example. I guess those links were helpful in showing it's more powerful. I wonder how much more reliable it is? For $300-400, I guess you can't beat that kind of performance.

The Blouch TD04 19T is the biggest TD04 turbo you can get. The characteristics of this turbo is low end and mid-range power. Spool is increased by 500rpms (faster). The VF39 has mid-high eng power. Spool is around 3500 RPM instead of 2800RPM with the 19T TD04. It really depends on what your gonna use it for.

I just want a powerful daily driver basically. My friend has a VF39 on his 06 WRX (totally different animal with the EJ255 I know) but that thing is a beast and he takes Stage 2 STis all day long with his Protune. I want to be able to beat him. I'm already down with power with the EJ205 so I have to make up for it somewhere! I wanted a VF43, but it's about the same price used as sending my TD04 to Blouch for an upgrade to the 19T.... which would be better? |

If your on a budget get a VF34, VF43 or 16G standard. Either one will do the job easily. You can find those used laying around on the forums.

Well as it stands, I'm considering a VF43 if I can find a decent one with low mileage that isn't too pricey. Then I want to get it PnP and coated. Then some of Grimmspeed's PnP services (IM, TGVs, etc) and an E85 tune on 850cc injectors. That should get me more horsepower than he has, although I'll never have the torque of the EJ255 |

the spool of the 19t td04 sounds good, but i dunno, p%p small 16g sounds better imo. might not hit 300hp but it should be really fun around town,

man thanks for all the responses! damn, really helpful thread for me! okay i have a top mount bigger than the spearco. it's good to know the injectors and fuel pump. i'll do those. sounds like this turbo is better than i even thought before! i would never do the turbo without a better tune. i'm os tuned now and hell i love it. great tune. runs sooooooooooooooooo smooth. i spool FULL around 3100 and still get 26mpg ha ha.
05wrx 09 my buddy had an 06 with just stage 2 and holly hell that thing WORKED sti's like they were not even turbo'd ha ha. the 2.5 IS a completely different beast. i like holding it down for the 2.0 though. i'm not much for straight lining though. i'll be autocrossing this car. or at least till i pick up a fozzy for a dd then i can track this one.
