Default Mosquito Ridge Rd on Sunday?

Hey, guys, I have to be up to Auburn by 10am on Sunday and was wondering if anyone might be interested in doing an early morning run up to and on Mosquito Ridge Rd?

I'm not sure if I'm going to go yet, so I thought I'd gauge interest here. My friend is wimping out because he is afraid the road might be a bit wet and doesn't want to take his MR2 up there .

If the weather is horrible, I'm not going to go, but if it's pretty dry I'd be willing to go.

Lemme know

I need to be up to Auburn by 10am FOR mothers day stuff, so I was thinking we'd meet up in Folsom or another place you guys might like and meet EARLY like 7am. Then we could drive up there and blast up the road, then split off when we get back to Forest Hill road, as I'll be headed for Grass Valley area.

I'll be busy the next 2 weekends, let's do one on Memorial Day weekend? I really want to hit Wentworth Springs Road too, but I scouted out that road last week, and about 10 miles pass the reservior it is ALL SNOW. Its not very curvy, and on some sections I managed to hit about 130 Still fun in its own way, plus its got a great view. Probably not accessible until well into summer

Default Mosquito Ridge Road! (May 24)

MODS: Can I get a sticky?

Alright, guys, I've been asked to post this so that we can get together a group of guys to run Mosquito Ridge Rd in the early morning hours of Saturday May 24.

Let's have a structured conversation as to when people would like to meet. I'm thinking 7:30am would work well. Actually, we could all meet at a Dennys somewhere on the way (maybe @ Sunrise and 50) for breakfast, then head up there.

I'll be bringing my digital camera, and I'm sure others will. When we get to the top of the road, whether it be that snow ends it, or we hit the end, we can park and get some good pics.

So, vote for the time you wish to meet and we'll set it up. I hope we can get together a good sized group and have a safe, fun drive.

When you vote, also make a post stating your selection so we can see who wants what, and get an idea of who is interested in going along. If you select monkey, I consider that as "other", so please provide your idea in a post.

I picked Greenback & Auburn-Folsom because it is 5 minutes from my house!

Hopefully some more of the snow has melted!

Lightbulb Mosquito Ridge Rd drive/meet - Memorial Day

Greater Sacramento area subaru enthusiasts, let's get together for a drive through Mosquito Ridge Rd on Memorial Day.

Let's meet early to avoid as much traffic on the road as possible, getting stuck behind grandma in the twisties doesn't make for a fun drive.

Time: Monday morning, 7am...

Place: Somewhere in Folsom near that end of Mosquito Ridge (help me out here guys)

Anyone interested? Suggestions?

(This meet originated in this thread.)

Well, Saturday, May24th doesn't work for me. Turns out I have to work that day.

So I am trying to plan this meet for Monday, May 26th, which is Memorial Day.

Oh... oops, I didn't see sonicsuby's post about making this event on Saturday May 24th... Sorry guys, gotta count me out if we make it on a Saturday this month. Got stuck working Saturday's in May.

...but, if no one cares either way, then scheduling this meet for the 26th would be best for me.

The good thing about meeting in Folsom is that we can do the route we did last time - Salmon Falls Road, HWY 49, Old Foresthill Road, then Mosquito Ridge Road. Beats driving up 80

Definitely. I love Salmon Falls and 49. Is there a place we could eat in the morning that is near where we met last time?

Yeah, I don't usually eat breakfast either.... I'm all about getting on the road as early as possible.

Maybe we could stop for breakfast/lunch at the end of the drive?

BTW, anyone know how long the drive will take?

If I remember correctly, it took us about two hours last time, but we stopped talked for a bit too. I think if we did the drive, talked at the top and took pictures, had lunch following the run, it would probably take about 4 hours total.

It's so fun though

Woot! Im definately for it!

Ill bring my camera and if we can make the run..uphill OR downhill in 30 mins or less Ill film the whole thing via my in-car camera.

PS...I voted for 8AM auburn-folsom...we just have to watch out, because Memorial day weekend is USUALLY a maximum-enforcement weekend with the Police...
