Default fyi (fishing spots nearby)...

Riley's Lock up off Seneca Rd from Rte 28 (via Darnestown) has some bass fishing spots (or used to), that might be good (My Pop used to go there all the time and swore by it for smallmouth...) Its off the C&O canal, so you could walk up that a bit to get additional potential fishing spots off the Potomac river there...

It's approx. 8-12 miles from Shady Grove Rd/Rte 28 intersection I'll reckon.

(Lived in Darnestown from '77 - 93)

Cruise on over to Lake Frank or Lake Needwood.

I know all about it, I fish there when the river is slow, and I duck hunt there every weekend. I live off River Rd. so it's a straight shot for about 20 mins (at 4am). It's about 30 mins from my house during the day, b/c much of it is one lane each way.

It's an excellent Smallmouth fishing spot, it's my personal favorite. It's why I bought a tunnel hull boat, b/c of the sudden shallow depths and rocks.

There's no back alley at my workplace, but there is a gas station parking lot next door. I hope that will suffice.
