BUT, around 20-40mph there is this maddening squeak that comes from the front end anytime I hit the smallest bump. I'm waiting and hoping it goes away on it's own. But, I'm someone who goes insane over squeaks and rattles. I like to leave the radio off so I can listen to the engine, but now it's just annoying!

All that is is that license plate mount we gave you being too tight. Back the screw out that goes into the bumper by one or two turns. Problem solved. When that gets over tightened it makes very light contact with a piece of syrofoam inside the bumper and squeaks...

If you don't mind sending it again it should work.

Thank you!

Ha, license plate borders from the dealer was the first thing to go on my wifes new impreza a few weeks ago

No free advertising from this chap! I always de-badge the stupid lettering they put on the trunk lid at some dealerships too... now that is just annoying right there.

Subaru of America is separate from Subaru of New England. SNE, was originally started in MA, as a dealer and they started gaining more dealerships selling Subaru's. As they became more popular throughout the country, Subaru of America was created. They are completely different entities, have different ordering and shipping, and at least on my 2002 WRX, which has a RW2 package, I couldn't order certain items for my car from SOA, as they stated it was SNE parts only.

I have a VIN and my dealer said they are just waiting for it to hit the port. On 9/18 they told me 7-10 days...and I'm still waiting.

However, there were a couple cargo vessels that just docked at the port in RI that SNE uses. One last night and 1 possibly 2 this morning. However I don't have any information if any of those vessels had Subies on them. Probably going to drive myself crazy lol.
Thanks for the info! At least you have a VIN.... I don't.... SNE stated I won't get VIN until car is sitting on American soil, and is checked prior to being loaded and transported. Where in RI is the port? New Port area? I was told car could come in at Baltimore, or RI, but wasn't sure. I really hope she shows up soon. I'm over 16 weeks now....

SNE uses the port in RI, and SOA uses the one in MD. The RI port is Davisville located in the Quonset Business Park in North Kingstown.

We don't even bother putting those on our wrx/stis cuz we know no one keeps them. What I am talking about is this:

Awesome way to mount a front plate without having to drill into the paint on the bumper. Goes into the OEM square holes that are in there (for the euro/jdm plates) and allows you to mount an american plate.

Only bad thing is that if you over tighten them they squeak on the bumper support.

Mike yeah I was way off, I stand corrected.

I will let you know if Subaru Of Gwinnett is foolish enough to put a license plate border on my STI (whenever it arrives lol)

This place claims to sell them, but everyone we talk to has a hard time finding them. They are only around 40 bucks. The problem is trying to find them.

We only have enough sets left to give to all my sold order customers FOR FREE. That's how we roll here at the E...

And Mike, thanks for posting those "plate things" lol. I need to make sure I tell my dealer to NOT mount the front plate. I'll kill someone if they drill a hole in my new car.

Yeah I actually have notes printed in big font I put on the dash of every BRZ/wrx/STi that comes in saying:

"No holes in front bumper and no tire dressing"

Other than those mounts I posted you can also find the ones that go into the tow hook that is in the front bumper of the wrx/sti. Those put the plate off to the passenger side though. I prefer the symetrical look (tee hee).

I just keep telling myself "you dont know what you've never had" and that makes it okay somehow. I feel bad for the people that have some extended time behind the wheel of WRX/STIs.

Or maybe it's that my girlfriend has boobs to keep me occupied and sane.

If my dealer doesn't have the square mounts, and they didn't listen to my request not to drill the holes for the front plate, where would the holes be drilled? I know this may show how much of noob I am, but I've never seen what the bumper looks like with holes drilled in it.

Picking up at 9am. Ordered a week ago.

I got EXTREMELY lucky that someone ordered the same as me almost. This one has an SPT exhaust, but I will sell that if anyone wants it. I got invoice.

I actually feel guilty for not having to wait like the rest of you.

All I can say is ORDER SIMPLE, as simple as you can, and add stuff on. Seems to be the way to get it faster. Oh and according to my dealer, do not get Nav. Supposedly nav at the moment quadrouples your wait.

Now to find some HOW TO BREAK ENGINE IN threads. Not break engine I hope....
