being at stock height and still having to worry about the enormous front overhang on my car making contact with a driveway.

Apparently my last event with a stupidly steep driveway entrance regardless of my entry angle resulted in my need to replace the passenger side retaining bracket for the bumper. Mine is bent out of shape enough to cause a nice quarter inch gap between the bumper and the fender at the seem.

Seriously, read the thread before you post. This thread is about stupid things mechanics find, not **** you hate about your car.

Since this thread came out, I really have enjoyed going through it. It is quite interesting on what you folks come across. Seems like it's hard to get enough of the pics and back stories to these disasters.

I found this link http://www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledin...ct_sr=on&t=all

Please keep posting/sharing

You might want to rage at all the other posts as well that don't follow the criteria instead of coming off like a prick. I dont waste my time reading the first page with a thread title like "sometimes I hate" when the first impression with a title like that is a place to vent about crap you hate.

If you want an example from when I was turning wrenches then you could have all of the sludge filled heads I have seen from morons who dont know what an oil change is.
The ever famous dog food filled air intake box in a car that sat for a while (squirrels).
The endless amount of tire sensors destroyed from fix-a-flat.
My favorite, car comes in and the owner says it wont crank over and she heard a loud snap when she tried to start it. Turns out the belt was original and the car had over 200k on it, needless to say the belt finally gave up. apparently following the service plan never crossed her mind.

I got a long list of stories filled with stupid. I could give you a more fitting title like "what grinds my gears" or "customers are morons" that would be more fitting of a mechanics day filled with stupid crap you see at work.

If you had read the thread you would see that I have made this comment before to keep it on it's original purpose.

That being said thanks for adding appropriately to the thread with your reply.

And regarding the serious business remark. Would you really like to see this thread degrade to a things I hate about my car because no one stops the of topic in put? And I think you need to be a little less feelings hurtery if you think I was being harsh as I don't remember calling names or being a straight up dick.

That being said carry on I'll keep enjoying the posts.

A severe impact. Driving over a steel pipe at speed or maybe a curb.

I hate when a car has clearly been neglected and the customer tells your manager that YOU must've broken it. Oh, and the lack of faith your manager has in you before consulting you about it. Ie; a friend of mine cpo'd a MY10 mercedes C300 for our dealer last month and first thing yesterday morning our boss pulls him aside to tell him he's being written up for not seeing the 4 missing tpms sensors. Mind you that had they been missing when he cpo'd the car, the instrument cluster would have a nice red warning display along with a flashing tpms light. Idk who's getting screwed worse by the dealerships these days, an honest tech or the customers.

Oh man!! I wish I had a picture of a car we just had in the shop. A white 2014 E350 with the most beautiful eyelashes on it.

Reminds me of the sorority girl I occasionally see around here with a flat pink C63 AMG.
