Default Anyone live/been to Calabasas Hills, CA?

I have a pretty promising job offer down there...I know it's north of Malibu, but don't know how big (or small) of a city it is.

What does OT think?

i work there. It's the outskirts of LA, with everything that implies. It's somewhat upscale suburbia, kinda pretty. Close to the beach. Good driving roads nearby.

LA sucks.

Dr. Laura lives there, it's hot as hell in the summer, it's rich, it's suburban, it's 818.

But, it is relatively close to Malibu.

There's some positions with a LARGE restaurant chain there...In the R&D department, which would be AMAZINGLY COOL.

yeah dude...seriously. I'm getting paid now to give my opinion and plan menus, but there's also a lot more that comes with it (management, light cooking, dealing with idiots). It'd be cool to ONLY mess around testing food/ingredients/menu items.

That's my dream, to "play" in the lab for a living..feasibility/etc. I'm unfortunately heading the other direction...towards more management/dealing with idiots. It's the only place there is money in biotech.

catering is weird, there's so many variables...depending on your location it's very hit or miss. here in the NW it sucks because it's all business in the summer (june-july) and mellow in the winter (aug-may).

plus, people on the west coast don't spend as much on weddings as they do back east.

Perhaps, but in Calabasas/Malibu/LA there are 10000's of catered private parties every weekend!

It's pretty laid back over there, and if you're a fan of Hoobastank, that's where they're from
