Thumbs up 2009 Subaru Forester 2.5X Premium - 1st Place in June 2008 Motor Trend comparison

In the June 2008 issue of Motor Trend, there is a comparison of 5 economical SUVs. The 2009 Subaru Forester beat the Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V, Saturn Vue Green Line, and the Toyota Rav 4.

Also, there is also a snippet where they did a quick test on the 2009 Forester XT, and got 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and 1/4 mile in 15.1 seconds. Braking from 60 is 127 ft, and 0.78 g lateral acceleration. Weight as tested for the XT was 3416 lbs.

hmm 0-60 in 6.6 sec. not bad, but imagine if the 5spd was still available.

I think that's a misprint.

My 2009 forester xt only has 600km on it. The satin white pearl on the new forester is great. I actually see people stop walking and looked at my car. I get 12.5l/100km in the city and 10.5L/100km on the highway. I drive very gentle. If I am stuck in traffic or drive a bit more aggressive the fuel economy goes up to 16l/100km.

Again I like everything about the car except two things. I wish the car has the same audio system as the 2009 outback. The telescopic steering is a big improvement, but wish it can extend out few cm more.

Too bad the L.L.Bean will disappear after June 30. I guess the 2009 Bean will become a collector's item.

Not entirely correct, it'll just be renamed "Limited"... unless people really love their beans, it'll probably still sell well- and perhaps for a bit less, since they won't have to pay for the use of the name...
