I work for Goodyear. I'm getting them for free/our wholesale price. Which is 60-75% less.

How? Because my tires are already shot with a season of street driving and a weekend of autox every other week? Not to mention camber wear...

I go through quite a bit of tires.

Lucky for you working for Goodyear and getting tires cheaper (I understand than you get deep discount, but not free). I personally cannot afford tires that last 1000 miles.
Are you sure they are good buy for people paying normal prices?

Krzys

PS What do you know about Goodyear's winter tire plans for next winter? Will we get Dunlop Wintersport 4D?

I had a ****ty alignment over summer since I kept doing suspension work and a lot of toe and camber, premature wear. you should get 20k miles or more out of them. reguardless, mine still have decent tread just camber wear and are on the old side.

"Camber wear" does not chew through tires That fast. Sounds like you have a toe problem.

Default Dunlop Z2s?

Thinking of picking these up in the next month or so from tirerack.

I know I can fit 225/45/17 on my 06 WRX but they are almost $100 more than the standard 215/45/17.

I am on a tight budget but want better performance out of my tires. Will the larger tire size make that much of a difference in performance on the street?

Also, has anyone had any, I am sure limited, experience with these tires since they came out?

On the street? No. Stick with the 215s since you have 17x7s.

Ah ok. I'll save my money for some new 18x8 wheels, then look into wider more performance based tires for that size.

Thanks

Just tires is owned by Goodyear and we still get just as much (if not more) information about upcoming tires and all that than a actual Goodyear employee. We are in direct contact with them daily because they are who we report to. Goodyear writes my checks, Goodyear tire in rubber is who I work for. Just tires is just the place I work at.

As for my tires. I exaggerated. I have probably 12k on them between 2 cars and the alignment wear isn't that bad. I do have some cupping from lack of rotation by the previous owner. Either way they aren't worth keeping and like I said I get a really good discount on them anyway so I might as well upgrade.

but, the fact remains that the ONLY place the Direzza Z2 can be purchased is The Tire Rack ... even if you work for Just Tires or Goodyear

and quit calling them "Star Specs" they are names the "Direzza ZII"

and they are good as our preliminary testing last fall showed
