5DMK3's are great. If I wasn't so invested in Nikon gear I would definitely jump ship.

nikon just came out with the revised d7000 called the d7100...it will be better for sports as the AF is much better and will do just fine for wildlife too. def need a better telephoto...if you got the coin the obvious choice is the 70-200 2.8, but you can get an 18-200 which has VR and is a LITTLE better then the 55-200 and is still pretty cheap. i have a 70-300 Non VR that ill sell ya for 75 bucks shipped and paypaled. (you can LMK on that) its not great for fast action shots, but it will bring you a lil closer then the 55-200. it is what i started with when doing my racing photos.

That's what rsutton did, it worked out pretty well for him! (not that the camera makes his photos what they are)

Yeah, sounds like you need some better glass first.

Bought a Wescott Rapid Box strip at LA Photo Show last week. Did some test shots with my speed light. I didn't calculate my guide number so the front of the car is a bit of overexposed.

Nikon D800
SB-700
Wescott rapid box
Tri-pod
f/4, iso100, 1/4sec

Saw this one on the Cobb FB page, congrats. You and Armin are the only people I 'know' that have their work reposted by cobb.

(no, I don't know you, just recognize your work well enough to know who took the shot when I saw it on the Cobb site)

The older nikon 80-200mm f2.8 is a lot less than the 70-200 VR 2.8, and performs pretty similar.....minus VR. I picked up the 80-200mm f2.8 for about $650(2 Ring Model).

I think that's what they were talking about. It looks slightly unnatural

I believe hes referring to people no longer being able to buy a physical copy of Creative Suite. Everything will be on an online cloud, and will be by monthly subscription..to discourage piracy etc. Needless to say this isnt going over well in the hobbyist community that only uses it sparingly

Yeah that wouldn't be too practical for the hobbyists. LR has a great price point too. It'll be interesting to see the cost if they go that route.
