There you go Totally agree... except I think I like the styling of the new Lancer even less than this thing. Like I said, I'm holding out for the sedan / actual thing before I pass total judgement.

I'm gonna say some stuff.
Did they take a car and dip it in plastic parts? Why did they make a Mazda 3 hump a Tribecca? Who moves BACKWARDS with brakes? That muffler is on the wrong side. |

this photochop at least brings some muscle to the front end. with all that nasty chrome it reminded me of a chrysler front end. the rear end reminds me of the lexus rx hatches... as for the sti, if it looks like this i'll be pretty happy except for that bar going down the middle of the lower fascia. but that doesn't mean i'll be giving up my 04 especially not for an 08. |

Yeah, looks like a Mazda 3 to me. It has no appeal whatsoever. Plastic in the engine compartment doesn't bother me. plastic manifolds don't heat soak like metal and they're lighter. Likely those plastic parts save 20-30 lbs of weight too. As someone else said, not having fender flares makes it look pretty wimpy.
It's the same kind of mistake Honda made with the 01 EP3 civic hatch. |

The 10th gen Evo and STi are dead to me. They're both going in directions I don't like.

Astra VXR: We get the Astra as a Saturn in 2008. If we get a Redline w/ a 6MT and the Turbocharged 4, I've got my next commuter. God I love Opel / Vauxhalls EDIT: Here's your link for the base model 2008 Astra 3 and 5 doors: http://www.saturn.com/saturn/vehicle...cles/index.jsp Last edited by r0bman; 03-27-2007 at 11:51 AM. |

I like that Renault Clio thing with the V6 in the backseat. Europe has all the cool hatches.

It's a good thing Subaru ignored all the styling from those ugly hatches and went with something lovely like this Kia.

The overall lines of the body are actually totally hot.
The main ugliness is the front end, but knowing Subaru, they'll keep that for two years, then facelift it so that it is even more ugly, then facelift it again so it looks totally cool, and Americans will decide the ugliest one is the best. Nevermind the dinky intercooler, plastic manifold, and generally strange underhood design, have you heard about the freaking exhaust? Crap about the pipe coming up the driver's side, then crossing over right behind the rear axle, with the tip comign out at a right angle from that, or some ****? Ouch that is going to hurt. Though it sounds like the STI will be very different. That's what I am waiting for anyway. |
