Default Need A Nice Suspension Setup...Help!!!

Ok, I'm using my WRX as a daily driver and I live in NY state so I'll be dealing with heavy snowstorms. I don't want an extreme drop because I've delt with a Civic Si before and I couldn't even clear speed bumps. I plan on adding a front lip so keep that in mind. I have an offer to get some barely used KYB shocks for $350ish and then I'd need a nice spring, like Eibach or Prodrive(what do u guys suggest?). Or I can go STi Ver 8 for $600 shipped. What do u guys suggest? KYB's and a nice spring or STi Ver 8? Thanks so much for the help. ~Nick

You might also consider Koni's (single adjustable)- they have a nice ride and can be paired with anything from stock to 400lb springs and work fine.

really, sti takeoffs over say kyb's and eibach or prodrive springs? those don't produce a huge drop so shouldn't they be fine even with a lip on the front? i do like the sti suspension, but i can easily get the kyb's and some springs for cheaper and probably have just as nice of a setup w/ more of a drop. i just don't want to run into something like this:

thanks for the help everyone.

I should think that the AGX's with Prodrive springs would be nice with minimal drop.
The STi stuff is real nice, but isn't adjustable(in this price range).

Bilstein has just released the PSS9's for the WRX, it may be a bit more than what you're looking for, but upper end of the ride height is about 1/2" lower than stock, and it can be lowered further from there. I'll be getting a set for my car shortly.

STi v8, no question. The two-stage damping coupled with the suspension tuning makes them preferable to the AGXs, hands down, IMHO.

I just installed a set of v8 take-offs in my 04 sadan. Awesome bro! Im so pumped. Its lowered about .4 of an inch...and the wheel gap up front is reduced. the car handles awesome(not just on the flat stuff!)

V8 suspension will have camber problems in the rear on a wagon won't it?

not to mention they're an inverted monotube design... pretty beefy too.

hmm, well what i think i'm gonna do is go with the v8, but not until the spring. i've got too many other things i need to get first. the stock ride height is fine for now and winter is coming anyway. right now i'm getting the v8 sti wing, v8 sti sides, and some other little things to make it look better. spring time brings suspension, wheels, and more power!!! thanks for the input, looks like the v8 setup is where i'm headed. ~nick

I've been wondering this as well, can anyone out there comment on this, I haven't seen too much info about fitment/camber issues regarding the wagon.

We wagon owners would like a nice suspension too!

I'm not sure how much adjustment you might need, but camber bolts can be installed in the rear.
They are available from several vendors who advertise here.

Several Wagon owners have bought these and said they work fine with a camber adjustment.
