Ironmonkey, ill look over your info tonight and add it when I have time. Thanks
I understand that. My point was dont take these weights as gospel. Yours might vary slightly. If you want to know exactly what you car weighs the scales are great.

It is interesting to see the weights go up as the MY go up too. The sti really is a pig now .

I haven't seen the list in a while. Looks good. I know you mentioned it in
the thread but perhaps you should site your sources in the 1st post. There
are bound to be more "naysayers" and "sharpshooters".

Good work.

Updated with 2008 Impreza Curb Weights. Possibly innacurate (sedan and 5-doors aparently have the same weight?) but exactly as listed per Subaru's info...

They said the WRX was 50lbs lighter, which it was.

Nothing was ever said of the STI.

The weight of the '07 STi limited compared to the '07 STi is the best kept secret to date. Word has it the FBI doesn't even have those official numbers.

God, the Baja-T is such a porker. This weight creep is bs...manufacturers really should chillax with the safety features and maybe give a complimentary Defensive Driving course instead.

This thread is great btw, great work man.

Default STi weight creep

Compared to an 02 WRX, the STi's 290 ft-lb feels like 260, due to the 320 lb weight increase.

so this still isn't stickied?

bump for a great thread.

anybody know where to go to find out how much engines weigh? trying to figure out the closest estimate to how heavy my car is now, 2000 gm6 with 2005 Sti engine only....i know the engine adds 50-100 lbs but knowing the weight difference btwn the original 2.5rs engine vs. the ej257 would be awesome

When modded like this, I assume there are weight reductions also, a visit to you local truck scales may be the easiest way to find out.

Hmm... we may see fewer stickies now that the wiki is up and running.
This sounds wiki worthy...
