Just ordered a 2013 Satin White Pearl STI Limited today. I added the navigation package. Dealer said 60 days max. I'm not going to be able to wait. I'm already going crazy.

wrx was updated to "released" today. I assume this means released to the transporting company? Do dealers typically know specific days of delivery or are transport companies not like UPS.

That's it... I've been trying to be patient and not bug my dealer at all since I ordered but I'm calling them first thing in the morning.

I know I'm shouldn't expect anything, but I ordered Sept. 13th and this gives me the slightest hope that my car may arrive early.

There's nothing wrong with wishful thinking right????

Definitely not like UPS. Usually they are pretty good about getting them delivered on said date or at least a day later. Ya never know though. Especially over weekends or near holidays. Not saying yours will be like this at all because we have had some issues with deliveries for a while, but I have seen "released" statuses last a week or two. Even at other dealers near. The golden words for me are "Shipped Truck"!!!

Ahh. So released means its in the hands of the transporter. and Shipped truck means that its loaded on a truck in route. Thanks!

Getting info on SDC orders is pretty horrible. This is from the contact I was able to reach in SDC for my order. SoA needs to contact distrbution of SDC for updates via emails. You usually wont get any information on your order until the ship is near the ship is near the port. Wait times can be extraordinary as well as my order is only scheduled to arrive at port on 10/23 after placing my order on 4/17. They are still waiting on the VIN at this time.
Well that's unfortunate on your order, but wasn't that after the deadline anyways? It can't really be helped if that's the case. The same goes for living in the SDC region, another one of the joys of living in this area I suppose.

I can understand the reasoning behind the "no test drives" rule if they're trying to keep joyriders out of the cars, but you're also dealing with relatively cheap consumer cars. It makes sense on an exotic 6 figure sports car, it doesn't really make much sense on a 25k WRX. Dealers should be able to tell who's a serious buyer who's not.

I didnt drive anywhere. the dealer I bought it from did a dealer trade and got it for me. 2013 Limited, PBP, navi, sts... exactly what I wanted. I just got very lucky.

^^ cool, even better. glad you didn't have to wait!

For those of us still waiting, after creating an account on MySubaru.com, you can now access the 2013 WRX Owners Manual. Can't remember if you need a VIN, but click on "View All Resources", "Owner's Manuals", then search by VIN or year/model. Pass the time and get reading

So, I almost walked out of Sommers Subaru with a BRZ yesterday. SWP in 6 speed. Awesome car, it was just made avalible that day. I originally wanted a BRZ but decided the 5 door would be more practical.

If it wasn't for my check having the WRX vin on it, there'd be a BRZ in my garage now. After sleeping on it, I called them back and told them I'll continue to wait on the WRX. Surely the dealer has to hate me!

I did however call into Subaru of America yesterday to see if I could get a better explanation or time frame. They said they'd call today. I've heard everything from customs to a quality assurance hold. I'd just like an estimate time! Are we talking weeks or months?

Let us know what you find out!!! I've also been told a number of different things from quality, to logistic and shipping issues. I'm starting to feel like I'm getting a bit of a run around from SOA. My dealer / salesman are doing a great job though, but can only be so helpful when they have nothing to say...

just an update from my dealer from yesterday. My ETA of 10/8, turns out, was the date that my car would be sent to indiana (????) for a quality control check...so my car is built and currently chilling in indiana somewhere haha, so hopefully it gets to delaware soon. Can anyone or any dealers comment if this is a common practice, or how long it will probably be there for?

If I was in my early 20's, which means I was still living in an apartment, not married, no kids, and no dog then a BRZ would have worked for me...but I have the complete opposite going on now so I am happy to get a WRX. I did have a super awesome Tiburon in my early 20's though, actually liked that car quite a bit though.

Well, I recently sold my E30 M3 to help finance a house. After a few months in the new place I'm in the market for something new. The BRZ is much like the E30 M3 in power and size. That said, I have all the things you listed above... House, wife, kid and dog... After sleeping on it, the WRX is more practical, even if I'd really really like the BRZ!
