Question WRX Invoice prices?

Howdy,

Does anyone have data on what the invoice price is for the wagon & sedan, along with the options? I tried the usual net sources like edmunds and such with no luck...

Thanks!

Mark

Mark,

I asked Glenn Walace this a couple of days ago and he replied that he hasn't seen anything officially from SOA. If you do a search you will find some "claimed" invoice pricing, but I am skeptical before I see anything officially.

I saw in an earlier thread that invoice was 22671 for a sedan.

I didn't get an exact number from my dealer but he did say he thought it was about 22700

My dealer (Van Bortel) called me today with invoice prices... $22525 for the wagon & $229xx for the sedan. Those prices include destination.

Actually invoice price for the WRX wagon (5sp) is $22,048. The WRX sedan is $22,502. This includes the $525 destination fee.

I ordered my 2002 WRX wagon from Cross Creek Subaru in Fayetteville, NC for $150 over invoice.

Here's a link to the sales contract:

Punk,

Trust me. The abovementioned invoice prices are correct.

They have been confirmed by 2 Subaru dealer reps.

Invoice price varies slightly depending on your region because of the different Subaru distributors. The price I stated above holds true for the NY/NJ region.

I'm not a car dealer, but I doubt that invoice pricing varies from region to region.

Dealer holdback %, factory-to-dealer incentives and rebates may vary from region to region, but not factory invoice.

If Van Bortel is quoting you an invoice price that's $477 over the confirmed invoice price in North Carolina, I would call into question their whole "$400 over invoice" claim.

My dealer quoted an invoice price of $22,048 for a 5-Speed Wagon, the price included the shipping/destination charge.

$22,048 for a 5sp WRX Sport Wagon?

Bingo, same invoice price for both east and west coasts.

RidinLow, I'd suggest calling Van Bortel and getting you price "adjusted."

In all fairness, Van Bortel is consistent with their $400 over invoice pricing for 2001 Subarus. Their web page openly displays sales prices for 2001 models.

However, there's no indication that their calculated invoice prices differ from nationally published numbers.

Thanks for the concern, but the price I stated above is including destination... & the two figures are close enough after you take that into account .

Perhaps RL's quote of $229xx includes the $400 over invoice, because $22505 + $400 = $22905?

The destination charge of $525 is included in the invoice price of $22,048 (WRX wagon,5sp) and $22,502 (WRX sedan, 5sp).

If Van Bortel is quoting $22,525 for the wagon as invoice with destination, then they're buiding-in an extra $400 profit (assuming that they go $400 over their version of "invoice").

In any case, it's a great car at a great price.
