Default Rio Grande Valley Area

Wondering if theres any activity for subarus down in the Valley?

I drove from NC to McAllen, TX for Thanksgiving and only seen 3 subarus. An elder maybe 85 year old in a Tribeca in a handicapped parking, A early 90s model legacy at a flea market parking lot, and a 2008 impreza wagon.

Seemed to be more of a American model area, and subarus were non-existent

I go down there about once a month to check on my stores down there. I stay in Mc Allen off of 10th street but i spend most my time in Roma, and Rio.

I used to live there before moving to San Antonio. The valley is definitly more of an american car area. Alot of modding focus is placed on trucks too. I have to go down this weekend for the holidays/funeral. Some cool rural roads to do some spirited driving on if your into that type of thing just watch it for the border patrol.

Border patrol and cops suck out there.
Gotten pulled over 9 times down there specifically, but never received any tickets.....
Also nothing but a bunch of modded trucks and Pontiac Grand Ams/Sunfires & some Cavaliers...

I had a few close calls when driving down there. Especially thru Houston. I was chasing a Lexus down 10 and he must have been pushin 120 in lunchtime traffic, as soon as I slowed down, up on right lane theres 2 state troopers with lights on.

You both are absolutely right with the trucks and American version of everything. And it seems every ****box on wheels has some sort of aftermarket rims that probably cost twice as much as vehicle.

Not specific drives really, I used to frequent the country caliche roads (not sure if other areas in the world have this, its a weird kind of gravel like surface) north of edinburg. There are alot of small lakes out there with almost no traffic and some nice twists in the road. It is hard to explain exactly but police presence in the area north of edinburg is almost non-existent as long as you dont go more than 30 miles north and run into border patrol. I don't know about you, but no police and country roads is a recipe for goodness in my book. Hope you enjoy the valley and I hope in no way does your experience with the gulf coast and valley mar your impression of the great state of Texas.

Im originally from PA, ive got a good taste of rally roads with limited presence of law. Except them damn tree cops.

But its totally different in NC next to base. Theres a ton of troopers and MPs on patrol.

Cant wait to get out into some open land and tear it up.

So as I originally thought, subaru is virtually non-existent.

I think there was a dealership in Pharr. Seeming how versatile the subaru is compared to a v8 suv, and gas saved, I dont know why more people down there dont own a subaru.
**** theres absolutely no hills or snow, just dirt.

Yeah that is probably a better title.

When I was down there all I saw was an '08 WRX 5 door. I think it was red?

And then a nice Forester in Laredo.

I made basically the same drive today, RGC to Houston. I don't think I've ever seen that strong of a police presence on those roads in my entire life.

Yeah that 77 corridor to houston has some bad police. I just got back, saw a blue bugeye in McAllen. Theres a few STi's. It is kind of funny, when you talk to these guys they have no clue about engine managment. They assume that you can just bolt on things and turn up the boost controller. Roma has some good country roads if your into gravel and finding burning trucks with bodies in them : P
