Only issue was some brake fading, a little bit of body roll (however it always stayed predictable) and the fact that my tires got eaten by the pavement. It is an experience I recommend to every WRX/STi owner as our cars are simply amazing, easily keeping up with Porsche 911's, Audi S4's (I know it all depends on the driver as well). It was a good day
I absolutely love the WRX at the track & with some sway bars & spings you can get rid of alot of body roll for not to much $ (or go all out with coilovers haha). I had the same experience with my first track day on those dunlop's & immediately purchased pilot super sports, couldn't be happier.

Haha for sure! I'm getting ready to throw on my winter set up soon so I'll have a few months to figure out my next summer set.

For the track I had just done an oil change at the dealer and that's it.

i know right..lol

in fairness I have to say it is somewhat amusing to drive, instead of trying to go fast you try to get up to speed using as little gas as possible and then try to recharge as you slow down. my bro was doing slow motion electric only doughnuts with it. If I were trying to save gas and money I think I would go for a skyactiv mazda3 6 speed or a tdi

his first tank ended up being almost 54mpg mostly highway driving..now that he is making shorter trips he is getting around 60. should be pretty impressive when it warms up and he switches to LRR summer tires(it has LRR winter tires now). It's also wasting gas to use the heater when it could be running in full EV mode. Not exactly sure how to calculate the electricity usage into that...something like 100mpg-e for the 11 or so miles you get out of a charge. I'm sure you are all very fascinated..lol

My brother has a TDI and I actually like it a lot. Amazing how the interior can make ours feel so awful, not to mention the awful road noise our cars have. Although driving it isn't quite so... engaging.

driving in circles around a light pole in electric mode for like 3 minutes until i tried to punch him because he was making me dizzy

he isn't your typical prius driver, his past cars include a 92 sc300 5 speed, 90 celica all trac, cammed 04 GTO with LS6 heads and 2 mr2 spyders

yeah I've been thinking about trading my car for a GTI but the more I look into it the worse it sounds. The interior is much nicer but apparently it becomes a rattle trap after a few years anyway. even on vwvortex the gti can only barely beat WRXs in the "which should I buy" poll threads...probably because they break so much

So I got the shield PROPERLY installed today (on top of the oem shield like it should be lol)

its funny how the dealer almost didnt want to correct the mistake for me, claiming they "didnt think the spt shield belonged on top of the oem one". I happened to flip through an SPT brochure they had laying around and found a sentence that went something like this "the SPT turbo heat shield can be used in congruence with the factory turbo heat shield". Needless to say, that ended the discussion then and there lol

smh caught my dealer slipping.

Not trying to start anything, just wondering why you wouldn't just do such a simple install yourself? I would try NOT to let the dealership work on my car unless it was required they do it.
