Default My WRX is slowing down

So I have had my car for about a week and a half and I swear it is slower than when I got it. The roads have been mostly snowy and icy and all ive really gotten to do is drive back and forth to work (30 mi each way). Has the ECU just learned my slow boring frustrating driving? would that make a big difference? Im going to try and reset the ECU this weekend and see if that fixes it.

I don't believe that the WRX ECU is adaptive to driver style like some BMWs and Audis. However, I experienced the same thing. Passengers, however, made me realize that I was just getting used to the speed, rather than there being any actual change. The mind does crazy things.

You are just getting used to it... I thought the same thing at first, but then I raced a friend in his low-mile WRX from a light, and I stayed right with him all the way to 140 mph in a school zone on crowded public roads.

(heh...I assumed I'd get crap for racing, so I thought I might as well make it good.)

Sounds like it's time for some mods

I am looking into doing the TurboXS unichip only thing (I don't have the facilities to do a cat-back installation).

But, first comes Kartboy and Carbon Fiber Trim.

Roger that. My Rex was in for an ECU reflash, and I drove a Daewoo Lanos for a week. Lordy!

Oh. As an aside, my WRX is getting faster. The ECU reflash must have awakened something. It was a particularly strong puller anyhow, but now it's just crazy. A guy last night thought I had an MBC installed.

You do get used to the speed, and you think the car is slowing, until you realize how rapidly the headlights are receding in your rear view.

That's why they make so many performance upgrades for the WRX...so every month as you get used to the speed, you have to make the friggin' thing faster

OK. There is a distinction between

ECU RESET

and

ECU REFLASH

You get the latter when you get a certain CE light. I forget the code number but I could check by hooking up the OBDII to my WRX.

Are you sure resetting the ECU really helped? I mean for all you know maybe you got use to driving the the slow courtesy car. I use to own a 2000 celica GT before trading it in my wrx. In the begging when I first got the celica, it was great, the car felt good and was pretty low off the ground compare to "wrx". but than I get use to it and it got boring. So I had a minor accident had to drop my celica in for a week for repair..and man I get to drive a metro <- piece of !@$%$. As soon as I got my car back..it felt like I just got the car from the dealer..again felt different...that new car feeling..fast, low and good looking. I duno about you but thats my story..
