Mach V motorsports is the isht... +1

I've gotten alot through these guys, too much to list.
I love my springs, the Mach V Springs are an awesome bang for your buck spring.
I Just wish they weren't on the other side of the country, or vice versa.

My Mach V S/S brake lines on the way.

Keep up the good work Mach V!

stopped in again today to pick up some Kartboy XL exhaust hangers. called first to make sure they had them in stock as i left work over in Ashburn. When i got there, they had them sitting on the counter waiting for me.

I consider that there some A+ service.

A few months back I ordered the "wagon mafia" stickers from their website, arrived damned quick.

Last Friday I ordered the WRX harness for my Blitz Turbo Timer from their webite, good price, arrived relatively quickly.

A+ I will definitely do business with them again.

Quick Review:
I've had work done at Mach V twice on my 08 WRX, first to troubleshoot the rattling DP (thanks Perrin) which was promptly rewelded. I had taken it to 3 other local shops and 2 of them charged me $50 to lift the car and then said there was nothing they could do.
Dan looked at it, it was rewelded, then during the test drive he found the other squeak (Perrin endlinks) which he promptly walked out to the front, grabbed new endlinks, and installed on the spot. THAT pleased me greatly, and I was off.

More recently, I decided a new turbo, FMIC, and supporting mods were in order. After numerous emails asking Dan's recommendation on parts, I ordered $2K+ from FastWRX.com, and scheduled an install/tune day.
On the day of the drop of, I brought all the parts, then I was asked a few questions by matt (who helped tremendously). I was highly impressed that they wanted my input, as most places I've dealt with (dealership included) do what they basically want and just get the job done with little care towards specifics. (i.e. placement of gauge pod, etc.)
Matt called and kept me updated on the process several times, leaving me NEVER wondering the status of the build.
Upon pickup, Dan came out and explained everything new about the car to me, including the intricacies of the tune and what to look out for. A friend I had brought along (whom knows nothing really about cars, nor does she care) commented about how cordial he was and how nice that was that he explained it to me. He left an impression on her for sure.
Matt also went through the entire inventory with me piece by piece, price by price.
The car exceeded ALL expectations, and the service was extraordinary. I was flabbergasted daily by the status updates and the ease of answering all my (noobish) questions. They even overnighted me a part to ensure the project would not be delayed. (saving me $$ along the way)

Mach V has dutifully earned my business and I will patronize Mach V and FASTWRX.com and would recommend (and frequently do recommend) them to everyone.

Had a bunch of work done (see like 5 posts above) about a week ago and just received a nice care package in the mail. It was the right size too!

Angry

I have used Mach V in the past on minor items, oil/brake fluid and gaskets, but nothing substantial like a oem clutch and flywheel. On those previous purchases my experience was positive, products on time, good price and correct shipment...Now onto my recent and last experience.

During my search I noticed that FASTWRX had the OEM fly and exedy clutch in stock and ready for purchase, perfect!
Once the purchase went through I realized that my items were going to be delayed due to one part being out of stock, the exedy clutch.
So I called FWRX and asked them how much of a delay it would take, It was friday and I was assured I would receive the items by the following thursday.
Now this is important because my appt at AQ/Harmmon Motive for the clutch job was going to be the following friday.
Everything went as planned and the parts were received the following thursday.
When I opened the box I noticed the first issue, the clutch box and flywheel box were opened and tore up. The TOB or whatever its called was lying loose in the main box floating around. This worried me a bit so I decided to
compare my invoice to the box invoice to the part number on the boxes and everything checked out.
Now lets move on to the following day at AQ Motorsports, install time. (pretty well known shop)
I arrive at AQ drop off the clutch/fly and related parts and leave to head back to work.
I come back to the shop a few hours later, and i am greeted by Adan(AQ)and find out that FASTWRX sent me an STI style clutch not WRX (one is push one is pull). At this point my car is currently on the racks and the clutch already removed. Adan told me to call FWRX guys and let them know so that they could provide a refund.
Now on to the fun part, please keep in mind that at that point i was taking the remaider of my work day off to deal with the issue.

It took me 1hr, 2 emails 4 phone calls, 4 pictures(of wrong clutch), 2 mechanics(AQ) to convince the 2 Customer Service Reps(Matt and one other) at FASTWRX.COM that they had indeed sent me the wrong clutch.

They were conviced that the clutch never changed from 02-10 wrx and I must be mistaken. They said that I and the Mechanic had made a mistake, we were sent the correct clutch and if I would like to return it I will have to pay for shipping.
I think my favorite phone conversation went a little like this.
Matt: "nope you have the right clutch"
Me: "no I dont you sent me the pull I need the push style clutch"
Matt:" there is no way you need the push, all wrx are pull, you must have a different transmission."
Me: "Really, cause i think I would know if I didnt have the stock gearbox especially since I did the clutch over 30k ago on the same tranny AND IT WAS A PUSH STYLE!!!!"
Matt: "Not sure, you're confused."
Me: think to myself "FML" how did I pick this online retailer.

So at this point I start to rage. Finally I receive an email explaining that they, FASTWRX, had made a mistake, oh really? You sure I dont have a different transmission than the 06 wrx that my car is?
Well at this point I have a car torn apart and no clutch. The nearest dealer that had the clutch was 50mi away in Socal Rush hour.
Matt tells me that FWRX will pay for shipping to return the item but that I need to email Che and tell him that I need a shipping label.
Its friday and of course Che does not respond to my email even though I just got off the phone with his co-worker 20 min before.
So I eventually get the info and return the package.
FAST received it on:
Tracking ResultsTracking Number: 1ZA422F99057942664 Status: Delivered Delivered On: 11/22/2010 11:17 A.M. Signed By: OLIVIER Location: RECEIVER Delivered To: STERLING, VA, US Type: Package Service: GROUND Weight: 15.00 Lbs

Oh its over! yay, nope WAIT they still havent refunded me the $330, oh its because they forgot. Know how i know??? I called yesterday and they told me they forgot, refund submitted for processing 1 week after return was received, that is not acceptable.
Im sure that they have provided plenty of great service to the Subaru community but what I cant stand more than anything is arguing over facts. Also to make matters worse my friends had planned birthday events that night that had to be canceled because I couldnt get home in time from the shop, woudnt have been an issue if the correct parts were sent.
Good luck with your future endevours. If I had to put a monetary value on the loss of wages caused by this issue it would be about $200, plus the 50mi of driving(stress) to pick up the clutch. What I get in return is you guys scrape a few more points of interest off my 330 sitting in your bank. Thanks

Moral of this story. Buy from whomever is installing your parts.

Well, nice edits and I agree that AQ should have checked before they put it up, they also admitted that.
I left that out of the story because this is a vendor review for MachV/Fast WRX.
For the record AQ apologized for not double checking right away, they also gave me the clutch at their cost to make up for the mistake.
What happened was they checked the boxes before lifting the car and not the parts inside. The boxes were for the correct application it was the parts inside that were not correct.

trick3d, I'm sorry about what happened. It sounds like my staffer was confused about which part you had/needed. You obviously knew you had the wrong parts -- I'm sorry my phone guy didn't immediately understand.

The refund was processed yesterday after you brought it to our attention that we hadn't done it. I certainly understand that you're not happy about the delay. Again, my apologies for that.

I've sent you a PM with a follow-up to this.

Not many reviews of Dan as a tuner...but here's a little bit.

I had Dan and his guys install my hta68 and supporting mods and then they did the tune.

During the install I was kept abreast of how things were going in a professional manner and there was no attempt to upsell me anything I didn't need.

The tune is good, but my car in particularly is a little finicky (and an hta68 on a 2.5L boost creeps for mechanical reasons). Dan has gone above and beyond in making sure my car is running properly since the tune and has been generous with his time answering my questions.

Just got my parts from FastWRX. Everything came in good order and the prices were the best I could find. I'm stationed overseas with the military, and getting parts/fluids is usually very challenging. The shipment was quick and the selection on the site made it an easy one-stop shop for everything I needed to do a radiator swap. Thanks!

Another satisfied customer. Ive ordered from them several times, always been fast and nice. Actually ran into a problem (my idiot fault) by ordering wheel locks instead of nuts, they let me return them, then shipped me the nuts (but were wrong thread pitch, again not their fault, they were being labled wrong from the maufacturer), and after talking with one of the guys, they got me all taken care of and Im waiting for the nuts to ship! If you need anything, get it from these guys! They are great, super nice on the phone, and there to take care of ya!

Im looking at ordering my vlimited from them and maybe some hellas and cant wait to deal with them again!
