Yea, I did meet some nice people, they just didn't seem very passionate about cars. It was like everyone could have rolled up in their grandmothers station wagon and it would have been exactly the same. In i-clubs defense, it had been raining earlier that day so its possible not that many people showed. IIRC, there was a total of 8 cars, including mine and my buddy's.

I know a larger meet used to happen in Natomas off Del Paso, but I think that one died out.

I'm thinking it also might be a difference between people that work on their own vehicles vs folks that pay to have work done. I was under the impression that the majority of suby owners did their own wrenching (forum-type peeps, not your average joe/jane). But, I think I had it backwards. Seems like it would be hard to fully appreciate an upgrade if you don't do the work yourself.

Never been to Sac town but they sound different than central and socal.. Maybe make some friends or start your own little car group?

The Thursday night meets are cool when you go there and the right people are there. Jarek is probably THE most DIY guy that goes to those meets and he always talks about how the other guys don't talk Subie enough and would rather go eat food and stay stagnant with their cars.
Okay maybe I infused a little of myself in there.
Either way. Try a meet or two again. Look for the ones at 5 guys/Qdoba or the ones at In N Out. Usually a nice crowd shows to those.
The Monday EG meets are usually nice. More car talk.
I'll be out at this one on the 18th.

The one I went to was at in-n-out a few months back. I'll have to try a few more out, maybe just hit the ones that get a lot of attention. They have been having them at detail maniac pretty often, been over there yet?

Went to a few local meets years ago. People were pretty relaxed and there was a lot of Subaru talk going on. I just stopped because I got rid of my Subaru and I'm not much of a "joiner" anyway...

I haven't been to detail maniac yet to check those meets out. I know it's Man's business or something like that but my car has been in the shop for the past 2 months so I've been sadly out of commission. Getting it back today though actually.

I have a group of friends who get together every week for dinner, that used subaru centric but has become friend based.

The other socal meets are horrible! Haha.
Every 21 year old there cleary shops at the same broshop for clothes, buy all the same mods and know literallly next to nothing about their car except for what YimiSport (local shop) has told them.

I'm done with meets except for subiefest and my weekly

Just hang out at a local autocross one weekend. You'll find fellow Subaru owners and drivers who actually know a thing or two and no posers! Plus, for $35 or less, you can race your car Legally ! ! !

Nice. Did you end up picking it up today? What was it in the shop for?

I'm not to heavy into detailing myself. Waaaay too much time involved. My car is like, as Cher would say, a Monet.

Well **** yea. I look forward to hearing how you squeezed 350whp out of your 04. I'll try to make it out, I'll be attending my first track day on Friday so as long I get the car all prepped and my ducks in a row... you should see me out there. I'll be in my ACR Edition SRT-4. I'll pm you as it gets closer to let you know for sure.

Drink beer and talk about cars is the point. The Pittsburgh meet at the Quaker Steak and Lube has been around for a good while, and while I have only been going the last 2 years, the guys talk a good bit about Subarus. We drink beer and chat about other stuff too. Some of the younger guys, or people who aren't regular will rev and what not but that is what young people do. If you are ever in the 'Burgh stop in, the first Wednesday of every month, unless it falls on a holiday.

I think you're on to something. Beer should definitely be added to our sac meets. Then we can go do stop light pulls! J/k guys! J/k! I'm serious about the beer though.

That video is AWESOME. I watched the whole thing. I especially like the part where you start to scare your gf right before min 6. But I feel like if I support driving fast on public roads everyone here will throw a fit. So... Don't tell anyone I said that.

Thanks for liking the vid.... That just happened to be my camera in my buds car so i could get a lil footage ... I was up front in the hatch. I know those roads like the back of my hand. The downside of public roads are that I cant go any faster... and not being able to control anything other than myself and my actions.

For the most part I stay in the double yellow, a good habit I kept from my supermoto/ street bike days. I've seen too many deaths from people not being safe either passing or being able to control their bike.

You're absolutely right Greg! Tell me there's no place in PA in the backroads where you can open her up and let your car do what it does best safely, smartly and fast... Remember theres a time and place for everything. I know my place, i'm sure you know yours.

hey i have no problem with speeding or even passing on a double yellow. if you want to go fast, go find a straight road, don't try to straighten out the twisty stuff by using both sides of the road.

i'm a sportbiker first and foremost, and there is nothing scarier than coming around a bend and having a car in your lane.

just be careful is all i'm saying
