Default Wagon class in Red Line Time Attack (RTA)

Attn: Wagon owners
For those of you that participate/attend Red Line Time Attack (RTA). I would like to poll the wagon owners. In order to gauge the interest in competing in RTA if there were a wagon class in the street class category?

wagon's normally are not as modified as the sedans. wagons at this point are not able to use the max size tire for street awd (255). Sedans would be able to run that size already.

well, a GC8 can't fit 255's but I'm making it work...also just compete in stock class...its a new class that is aimed to be lower cost and more mod restricted than the street class.

You won't get them to make a new class. If you really want to voice it, post it here: http://www.timeattackforums.com/foru...referrerid=218

Nik and Chris both regularly discuss things in here and listen to voiced opinions

in the front wheel drive catagory there are cars that can fit 255's there are some that cant.. i dont see a need for a wagon rule.. and if they do what constitutes a wagon.. you'll have to go up against a 08 sti.

i run 255's and bigger on my wagon, for all the time attack events. i don't think a seperate class is necessary. if we choose to ta a wagon, it's up to us to make it work!

I always wondered if it was an automaker's designation to sell to a certain demographic, IE: young people don't want a wagon but will buy a hatch instead based solely on labels.

i agree with wgnwheel theres no need for its own class. rta is the kind of racing for more individuality. you bring what you got and hope you do your best.

By all means, draw that line for us. Write the rule, let's hear it!

I don't see a need. Crawford's 08 sti is competitive if not even class-leading. I expect mine to be competitive in street class. RTA is fun because it is gloriously unregulated. As already mentioned, Kris and Nick's philosophy is that street is a "rung what you brung" class. Let it stay that way.

We'll have our 08 STI wagon out there in street or modified class this year. Don't really see a need for a special class.
