Default Help with ROTA Grid Fitment for 02 WRX

Hey, im looking to purchase white rota grids for a 02 wrb wrx.

Would 18 x 9.5's with a 35 offset fit without rolling the fenders?

would i need a spacer to clear the brakes?

would there be any problem with having these wide rims on a stock wrx suspension?

Im also looking for a -4 camber, what would i need to buy in order to have a -4 camber with these rota grids.

and about the tires, are there any pros/cons to stretched and non stretched tires because i really like the stretched tire look.

Would running this setup affect the suspension in any way?

I dont know much on this therefore im looking for help from you guys that have ran or are running this setup or know about it.

Thanks!

you'll need to roll fenders. Those will clear wrx brakes just fine, however they will not clear brembos without a spacer if you ever decide to upgrade.

what the **** do you want -4* camber for? That is completely unnecessary and unneeded.

If you are scared of modifying your fenders, you WILL have to stretch your tires. If you did some research, you'll see that it decreases overall grip and will aid the tires in breaking loose (due to a super stiff sidewall). Theres always the chance of popping a bead on a pothole as well. The point of stretching tires is to GO LOW, so if you are at stock height....I'd walk away from this.

It wont effect the suspension, but it will look immensely stupid unless you are on coilovers and LOW. There are a few examples of people buying aggressive fitments on stock suspension in the Members Car Gallery, and it looks retarded. Aggressive fitments on subarus covers alot of points in order for to get the look you want. Camber (not -4*, but you will need to run 2*+ depending..), ride height (LOW), willingness to modify fenders (roll, pull, etc), and a proper suspension set-up that can handle all of that.

This isn't a super friendly fitment if you don't understand all the characteristics that go into this type of set-up.

the wheels will but tire size will dictate whether or not you rub on the fenders

there is absolutely NO way for you to get even close to -4* camber on stock suspension

like as stated before, it's gonna look really stupid with stock suspension.

Rolling the fenders isnt much of a big deal. If you took the time to actually read instead of being a smartass, i asked what would i need to buy have -4 camber, obviously talking about suspension. I also said that i dont know much about this topic so by you replying to me as if im an idiot, well... you're the idiot. all i asked for was help so if you wanna act like a moron, pick another thread.

Coilovers, maxing out top camber plates and getting SPC/Eibach camber bolt kit infront will yield you to -4* camber.

I've done it.

http://www.racinglab.com/spc-camber-kit-subaru-006.html

are either of these the bolt kits your talking about? they both say -/+1.75 camber so im assuming with coilovers id be able to get -3.5 - -4.0 camber?

Also what decent coilovers are there that arent too pricy (under $1,000)

If you are comfortable spending $1000, then spend a little bit more and get some Stance for ~$1500. They come with camber plates front + rear. I am able to get about 3* of camber with just the plates.

That car is an abomination. I warned you exactly why in your ClubWRX thread. There is not a single good reason for hellaflush to even exist. Everything about it detrimental to the car, its ride, and your wallet.

Uh, what? It absolutely does affect the suspension and I find it odd that you of all people would deny that. He's throwing off his suspension geometry and putting additional stress on everything from the steering column all the way down to the hubs. These parts do eventually fatigue.

so your saying that having 18x9.5 rims on aftermarket suspension coilovers such as stance gr+ pro is bad?

It's going to be bad on any suspension with the use you are wanting them for. Aside from the offset problems, no daily driven Subaru would justify anything over 8.5" wheels. Stance coilovers aren't the greatest choice either.

you need coilovers with fr and rear camber plates, rolled fenders and a 235 tire
thats about as simple as i can put it.

i by no means agree with doing this

235s are too small. 255s minimum.

theres no way 235's will fit, i dont want stretched look. like byzantium said, 255's will do but im now iffy about 9.5"s... for the rear 9.5's are perfect but its abit too wide for the front

You Basically Flare The Stock Metal Out Slightly, And I Agree Completely, But Look At The Agressive Fitment People Thats What They Do

I was talking fitment wise :P.

Besides, he didnt ask if it would effect the actual performance of the suspension

With stretched tires and -4* camber, you get maximum sidewall contact patch!
