Default Ode to my Legacy

I got creative and wanted to write about my Legacy, so here goes:
[disclaimer]
Ladies, please take no offense. This is only based on my experiences, and caters well to the poem. I think you're wonderful, in reality.
[/disclaimer]

Car Love
-----------------------------------
Ladies cause me so much grief
and they spend all my money
their moods cause me so much stress
I swear, it's not even funny

I'm gonna end up spending my time
in a mental ward popping pills
they say that speed is dangerous
here's the truth: women kill

I turn instead to a red machine
with race car handling, so it seems
I love that sexy boxer noise
the rumble that could never annoy

She never complains about going fast
doesn't ask about cars in your past
change the oil, keep her shiny
and you'll never hear any whining

If you buy some lowering springs
you'll get more joy than a diamond ring
bolt on a stainless steel exhaust
the sound alone justifies the cost

Ported heads to make her scream
big swaybars to stop the lean
synthetic oils to keep it lubed
component speakers let you groove

Stubby shifter to keep shifts tight
urethane bushings will treat you right
Group N mounts are worth the sound
grippy rubber gets power to the ground

Instead of stressing I'll spend my time
with something that can really be mine
Subaru, baby, let's go buy some parts
you know you'll always have my heart

Is it alright if I get that tattoo'd on my back?

I'm recently married and the springs/ring line is especially true!

Default Another one

So I wrote this several years ago for an extremely great girl I was dating... Thought I'd share because of the positive response to the first one (which I came up with in about fifteen minutes)... Kinda the other side of things.

Speed

As I pull up to the line and rev my engine, I look into her eyes and see an angel

Two worlds apart, yet so similar… Both sleek and smooth, ultimately powerful

Under the hood is a driving heat that could make any man crumple

Perfect timing, a slightly muffled roar, enough to bring any man back to his feet

Sharp lines that look good in any color and deserve exquisite attention

On three we both drop the clutch, smoke drifting slowly after us, picking up speed

We wind slowly through the turns, cutting to the inside of corners, but never too far

Coming close to the edge but backing off at the last second as we work our way down

Through the soft canyon walls we wind, carefully, but with one thing always chasing us

The thrill of the drive, our feet floating on the pedals, like fingers dancing on bare skin

Complete control of our beautiful vessels, we are neck-and-neck

Gliding through the last straightaway with the finish in sight, we stay even

I look into her eyes again and can’t seem to leave her stare

We both let off the gas, and coast to a stop

As we step out of our cars, her beauty becomes more apparent

Long brunette hair, bright green eyes, and a perfect smile

Leather has never looked so good

It is at that instant I want to give up my car.
