Default Crucial Racing Springs

Hands down, these springs rock!

I installed the Crucial springs last week shortly after I received them. They were packed well, and looked great powered coated Crucial's color. The install went very smooth, the springs fit like a glove. Everything lined up perfect! The powder coating with stood the abuse from the install. These springs are made for 04 and up models, so I had to get the 04 top hats, they fit perfect.

The drop is noticeable and the wheel gap is reduced. The car looks just the way I want it. The best part of it all is how stiff the car feels! When you push on the car, it barely moves! If I had to compare it to something else, I would say that they are a couple steps under a coil over. I will be getting new struts shortly, so it is only bound to get better.

The more I drive it, the more I love these springs! It takes bumps better than it did stock. Just the overall ride is very comfortable; it is not hard at all. The springs being my only suspension mod, definitely increased the stiffness in the car, and it handles so much better! I have really put the springs through some nice curves and the car remained flat all the way through!

If you are in the market for springs, I would highly recommend these springs! The Crucial springs are perfect for those looking to get STi spec springs rates, at a fraction of the cost, with a little more drop than the STi's.

Thanks Crucial for another great product!

they'll probably settle in a bit more over the next week or two, as well.

Thanks for posting, Piah. We 're pretty proud of our products, but these springs are among our favorites. They're the same rate as the "pinks" and offer a little more drop. As far as quality goes, they're hard to beat. They're made in Germany and are TUV approved. That means they're Autobahn quality. We think the handling improvement they offer is exceptional and there is little loss of ride comfort as they are progressive. We've been testing these since March and could not be happier with the result.

Developing a new product for market is not as easy as many of you may think. Look for more innovative products from Crucial soon.

These springs should be ready to sell next week.

What's the ride height measurement from hub to fender, front and rear? Same springs for wagon/sedan or will you be offering wagon specific springs as well?

Bump for info???

Someone else on Crucial springs quoted:
Center of wheel to bottom of front fender: 14.5"
Center of wheel to bottom of rear fender: 13"

This sounds like a bit too much drop at the rear to me...

Sounds like it, stock ride heights should measure about 1" less in the rear than the front on a sedan...

Our official springs thread HERE has all of the information you may want plus more pictures.

What I posted from our measurements on a wagon is 14.0" inches from center of hub to fender lip on the front, and 13.0" hub-to-lip rear. I'm not sure who said 14.5" but it's not what we've measured.

Remember, our springs drop 1.25" front and 1.0" rear on the sedan. The difference in hub-to-fender measurements front/rear doesn't have anything at all to do with the stance of the car or the amount of drop front or rear, but how Subaru cut the fenders. The front fenders are cut very high, as you probably notice when looking at a stock car that almost looks lifted .... the JDM Pink springs drop 1.0" front and rear, and we've added that extra up front to help make the car appear more balanced. If you measure a stock car you will get a larger front/rear gap difference than with our springs...

1" is definitely not too much drop. It's pretty conservative, actually, compared to most other companies' springs...

Hope it helps, and, again, see the official spring thread for details since that is the one we are subscribed to and answer questions in and whatnot

Stock ride height data recently posted in another thread for reference* in mm/inches:

Stock WRX wagon: 387/376 15.24/14.80
