Pros. Spools VERY nicely, makes strong power, very streetable. Love it.

Cons. You have to watch the bolts that connect the compressor to the turbine. they have a tendancy to back themselves out.

This is me compared to a 2006 C6 Corvette Z06. Corvette is the solid lines, I am the dotted.
406 torq and 398.5 whp on Cobbs AWD Mustang Dyno

Dear OP, I'm looking at this turbo or the ATP 3076 and was wondering if the 70mm APS CAI was necessary or if I could get by with the 65mm one?

Pros: This turbo in my opinion is the perfect turbo for the STI owner that wants an 11 sec. daily driven STI. The car just pulls and pulls all the way to redline. 118.50MPH trap speed on pump.

Cons: NONE

I don't think it is absoluetly Neccessary, but it does flow 15% more air than the 65mm intake. the bigger the flow, the easier the spool and more breathe up top. I don't know, close one nostril and breath through your nose. does that help you get more air?

Dom III with 2.4 inlet, 8cm^2 hotside

APS inlet, perrin sri without the maf coupler, ssac fmic, stock modded injectors, walboro fp, 3" TBE, prodrive EBCS, 1 step colder plugs, gruppe-s headers, UTEC, SMC 100% meth kit, and stock clutch.

Florida (? ft above sea level)

Tuned at BVP(Big Valley Powersport) by Gadiel

Pros - Spools loud and quick, hits hard all the way to redline. great for 11s whether on pump, meth, or race gas.

Cons - Oil leak from oil feed bolt, but fixed, and internal wastegate kept opening only allowing 23.5 of max boost on meth.

Numbers - dont have the dyno sheets but i think with meth was 401awhp, 370awtq.

Times - My best on meth is 12.2 at 115mhp with 1.860ft, but Georgie from Georgie Performance drove my car to 11.9 at 117mph with 1.760ft and with clutch slipping.

I have a DomIII on my version 8 ej207. 345awhp on bad 93 octane, 21 psi by 4100rpm. Here's the mod list:

2005 JDM EJ207
Blouch DomIII 2.4" inlet
APS turbo inlet
65mm short ram intake
heat wrapped WRX header
heat wrapped turboXS uppipe
heat wrapped Helix downpipe
3" catback
GM boost solenoid
Modded WRX injectors
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
CSS FMIC kit
TurboXS RFL BOV
ACT streetlite flywheel
Tuned using EcuTek by Scott Siegel at TopSpeed, Alpharetta, GA, about 75 degrees or so outside that day. Here's a video from my digital camera of the car on the dyno, you can see the graph at the end, but it's not the best run of the day.

Tuning by Keith at AWDTuning.com

Numbers are from the road dyno software and are +/- 2whp and wtq when compared to our local mustang dyno. I haven't had a chance to get back to the mustang lately so I can't verify if they are still pretty much dead even. However, I see no reason why they would differ now.

With stock uppipe, exhaust manifold, perrin short ram and using the internal wastegate on the Dom III... max boost 24psi hitting 22psi @4200rpm

415whp/374wtq... then we ran out of air.

Today we installed the grimmspeed stuff and put on the perrin Big Maf to fix our lack of air problems. We started tuning but due to a lot of thunderstorms passing thru we only got a basic basemap done. The numbers from the basemap.. running VERY conservative...

375whp/375wtq

Max boost was 22psi(I think) which we hit at 3900rpm. We still have about 4-5 degrees of timing to add and probably another 2-3lbs of boost to add so we are thinking we should be able to get 430+whp and 400+wtq out of her pretty easily.

Not sure when we are gonna get around to finishing the tune but I'll keep you guys updated.

I'm opensource tuned so there's no map switching like with the AP.. at least not yet. So I only have the meth map right now, but it's not a big deal since it doesn't really kick in until about 13-14psi.

We did work on the tune some tonight after we ironed out some kinks with an 02 sensor. Here were the results...

418whp/390wtq in 3rd gear. We tried a 4th gear pull but the stock clutch couldn't handle it and started slipping bad. We are guessing it was putting down around 420wtq at that time based on calculations using the engine load.

We had 24psi as the target boost and it was hitting 23.9 holding 23.4-23.6 till redline. We also hit 22-23psi at 3700rpms.

We backed it off a tad after that and when I get around to replacing the clutch we'll get at it again since there's still more power to be had.

sounds nice.i didnt want that problem with the clutch,so i upgraded with the turbo.it held me back another month, but im glad i did, because i dont want any setbacks on the dyno.once you fix that you be putting down some sick power.i also want alky, and im running open source.but i didnt want to run alky all the time ,so i decided to see what i can make on pump 91,and maybe alky at a later time.ill post what i put down on thursday.its going in for the tune on wednesday.
