Default KNS 2015 WRX Project Car

Ah that new car smell!!

Now we have something to try out new parts on and we will get this thing out to VIR before the end of the year.

2015 base WRX - nothing but a good mirror, bumper applique, floor mats and wheel locks.

Took a five mile spin and here she sits all dirty from delivery

1000 Mile Edit

Great damn car. Almost unbelievable for Subaru.

Great street motor
Stiff
Quiet(ish) till the mirrors make wind noise - but the view is worth it for DD
Suspension/Tires - well tuned factory setup. I'd bet it will get noisy and less 'awesome' as the miles break in but as new - not bad.
View from driver seat - good
Driveline - accurate and no AWD really felt

I need better seats
I want at least a bit of top end
It's pretty damn non-descript....but...that's good

Brakes are soft - we know someone on those though.

We will NOT autocross
We WILL go to the track (once my shoulder heals)

-Ken

Delivered from Colorado - and it ain't pretty so the first thing we'll do this weekend is clean her up and get some RainX on there.

Props to a great price and service from January and the staff at Heuberger Motors in Colorado Springs. If you are unhappy with your local dealer I highly recommend contacting them. It was pretty easy to buy the car remotely.

It will show up pretty dirty though.

We've been getting ready in advance for the project to start.

Front brakes from AP Racing. A great mod that save mucho unsprung weight and improve track feel and performance considerably.

Killer Bee J-pipe and intake just waiting for the break in to conclude.

2 sets of 18x9 PF01's ready to go.

One set is nearly mint to get street tires - most likely the Michelin Pilot A/S - love them on my E46 M3.

One set with RS3's waiting for those summer back road runs and first track days.

And a rear sway left from a GR that should fit. We'll sort those items later on as we get used to the car. I have a shoulder surgery to deal with anyway.

I read through the oil thread. That will take some time for sure. Not quite sure what to do there just yet but I will change early/often.

Ken! Your shoulder needs to get better and your break in needs to happen. Then we start the modding together.

And a quick trip to Charlotte finished up break in.

Oil is clean - but we'll change in a few weeks before the upcoming tuning session.

Mileage just under 1 k so the fun begins.

Motor - We Todd Did torque from a 2.0L. But the top end needs a bit of zest.

Suspension/Tire- Wow! Whiteline might want to reconsider production numbers. We'll align/tune - then likely go w/ Koni's or CO's.

Interior - Almost faultless. Fancy enough to keep my 51 year old brain working. Shifter good - but can be tightened.

Stereo - Base Model needs a bit of help.

**For tall ones - the seats are meh*** Bolster into leg on long drives. But almost EVERY car is like that.
