Default New 2000 Legacy GT Limited Owner

I am now the proud owner of a 2000 Legacy GT Limited Sedan. I am considering different modifications for my engine at the current moment, because the 165 HP isn't cutting it.

In the future, I plan on installing the Impreza 2.5L turbo kit: http://www.spomotorsports.com/techno...ID=#CustomerID

But I wanted to get some mods for starters. Do you reccomened I go with an ECU or Intake first? Also, where could I find information on a 2000 Legacy Intake that fits the 2.5 L engine? I've searched everywhere and cant find any high performance parts for the legacy, except for that tubro kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

Any intake for a 2002-2004 Impreza RS will fit.

I'd recommend you start with something cheaper if you're going turbo in the future rather than Cobb. Try PDM Racing intake or the Ganzflow. We picked up a PDM Racing 2002 RS intake second hand & it has done wonders for our 2002 Legacy 5 speed. Of course the Brullen catback & light weight non-underdrive crank pulley has helped too.

We're on the fence of either turbo kit, turbo engine swap, or just getting Cobb Street Cams & calling it good.

Is your car an Automatic or Manual. It makes a difference. PHATSuby just finished putting a Turbo on his car and is enjoying every second of it, and I've had my turbo on my car for since February of this year.

There are threads on this subject, and we'd be happy to share our experiences.

JA Cams from Japanese Auto are in my car, they are turbo friendly and are about 1/2 the price compared to Cobb cams.

I am actually selling my 2000 Legacy GT LTD. I might consider part out the after market stuff if no one wants to buy the car in whole.

I have the following mods.
Light weight pulley
Borla exhaust manifold
Fujitsubo LEGALIS exhaust (cat-back)
Tein NA strut with kg/mm spring
Cusco 16mm rear sway bar
S-AFC

You'll want to read this then. It's all you wanted to know about adding a turbo to your 2000 Legacy GT.

The Injen RD201p intake will FOR SURE FIT YOUR CAR WITH NO PROBLEMS!!!. I have it, it took me around 1 to 2 hrs to install, but that was just becasue I had to scrounge tools to do the whole thing. The only issue you will have, is that there is a small brace in the fender that needs to be removed and bent slightly. I paid around 200 for mine from options auto salon... My brother has always dealt with them and they had been awesome, and with the issues I have had with subaru speciality companies ( ISR) I paid the extra money for the lack of hassle.... well worth the extra money.
