Lowering springs on stock WRX struts?
I am happy with the WRX stock struts but would just like to drop the car down. Does this mess up the suspension due to the reduction in shock travel and other factors?

you should be ok...
perhaps a wee bit 'bouncy' but nothing too drastic... i ran stock struts and H&R springs on my GT... the WRX set up is not that dis similar to the GT.... so yes, it will work... j. www.subiegal.com |

I'm running Tein S-Tech springs on my stock shocks. Large bumps are a little bouncier but smaller ones are fine. Ride quality has decreased but not by much. 30mm drop or so. I'm happy for now. I'm trying to decide between the Tein RA and the Zeal B6 suspensions right now. Stock shocks weigh a TON by the way. Damn struts.

I'm telling you, go for the Tein S-Tech's in soft. THey are on special on the vendor forum for $150/set which is basically my cost on them. SUPER cheap and great springs for stock shocks since the spring rate isn't too high. Just for reference I sell them for $225 for the Hondas.

2.5RS and WRX are using the same suspension, right?

They use different springs but they are interchangable. I used GC-8 springs. They lowered the car about 30mm. I'll take some pictures once it stops raining.

Yep, works great. I'm very happy with mine but the stock shocks HAVE to go. They suck pretty badly.

Dan , how much do the Tein S-Tech springs drop the car? Also, how long will you have this deal? Thanks!

My car sits perfect. Looks great and not too low. I'll take some pics tomorrow so you can see. S-Tech's dropped the car about 30mm. Remember folks, I do NOT sell the springs for $150. I'd be losing money. Some other company had that special on the vendor forum. I used the "soft" rate ones which is what I recommend for stock shocks. They are 1.2-3.2 kg/mm front and 1.1-3.2 kg/mm rear spring rate.

Hey god,
What do plan to replace your struts with? I think they are the weakest link, next to the tires interms of performance. Scott |

I'm either going with the Tien RA setup or the Zeal B6. Not sure yet. I'm a WD for both so now I'm just trying to decide. I'm leaning towards the B6 since it's a new product line I want to advertise. We'll see.
