If we can help further PLEASE let us know!

Sorry for bringing back this old topic but I want to add something. Regarding to post http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...php?p=14849372

I have checked almost everything and still having boost problems. Please confirm if I'm wrong. Port 1 to wastegate, port 2 free, port 3 to turbo OR port 1 to wastegate, port 2 to turbo inlet hose, port 3 to turbo

I have tried both ways with no success. Here is the result for free port 2.

Wavering and overboosts to 1.29 bar after 5800 rpm

i'm curious why perrin turbo inlet hoses don't have a 5th nipple (on the top of the hose near the turbo) when samco, and gp moto, and even the stock inlet hose have 5?

from wat i've seen, some people that buy perrin hoses end up modifying them:

They are easier to install and you just T the oil breather tubes into one nipple. It's a simpler and just as good design.

Default Dual-Tube Exhaust Questions

Hi Perrin,

That's my thread at the Toronto Subaru Club that LowUFO posted!! ... I'll send you guys an updated pic of my car clean with it on along with a sound clip. I love it, great sound on the 06's 2.5L.

Anyway, yeah...my main reason for posting here:

I have two things i'm worried about: I can't seem to get the exhaust hangers to fall perfectly straight (i.e. vertical) and there is some water drips around the screw-type clamps. Here are the pics of the hanger problem:

Bumper hangers:

Hanger by the swaybar:

As you can see, the hangers are angled toward the rear a little bit.

So to sum it up,

1. I was wondering, is this normal? or do you think there is still more room to slide the muffler section over the center pipes section? To be honest, we've done as much as we can to slide the two pieces together and it feels like there's no more room left. (like gingertooth below, I've also marked the midpipes/center pipes and it doesn't seem to budge anymore). I just want your opinion; does it look alright to you? or should we keep trying.

2. I'm getting what seems to be some condensation and water drips by the clamps that hold the two tubes over the other tubes. Is this normal as well? (Note that there doesn't seem to be exhaust gas leaks... just water building up and dripping ocassionally... the clamps are on tightly so I don't see how it could be leaking gasses).

Thanks

i would like to know more about this too. i even marked the midpipe to see if the midpipe would slide all the way in but i couldn't get it to go any further neither. and i also forgot to put those provided clamps on before doing so and now can't get them on. but it doesn't seem to be leaking at all.

littledrummerboy / gingertooth: Thank you for your replies here, and my apologies for not getting back to you sooner. It appears that from the photos and narrative that everything is ok. The angle to the hangers may vary slightly based on DP selection, and how far the two pipes are slid together. Regardless, everything here is normal and shouldn't be of further concern.

Thanks again!

It's not a problem. If you're worried about the hangers falling off, drill a hole in the end of the exhaust arm that goes through the hanger. Then, put the arm through the hanger, then put a clevis pin through the arm. This will hold it in place regardless!

I had to do this to mine because it was a GD exhaust for my GC swap.

Yeah, I'm running your catted dp and the exhaust is slid in as far as it can go. The only concern is that I hope an aftermarket swaybar won't interfere with that hanger by the swaybar section. I'll be getting a 25mm rsb, so hopefully nothing rubs.

Anyway, thanks for all your help Adam, you gave me excellent customer service. Look to your e-mail soon for a clean pic of my car and a sound clip.

For anyone looking for a TBE setup. I really do recommend Perrin's catted dp, and dual-tube single tip exhaust. Mean boxer sound when needed but quiet when cruising and no drone.

littledrummerboy: Thank you!

never_summer: The intake will work properly on a base tune, (proper MAF mount etc) but I am unsure about the affect at higher levels. I will check with Jeff to see for sure. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks again guys!

I'm here to vent. About Perrin. I have sent them two questions via email. One was asking for instructions for installing the Inlet hose, and the other for installing a catch can when using their hose. Here is the reply I get.

Scott,

"Thank you for your purchase. Please provide proof of original purchase and we can happily send the information on how to do the installation as well as the missing hardware and supplies.

Thank you for choosing PERRIN Performance!"

Now, I know some of you are gonna sit there and tell me "if you don't like it don't buy it" but I am a little POed. If you wanna argue with me and stand up for Perrin, I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT! However, let me offer my take on things. Perrin has offered to help me ONLY if I can show proof of purchase. In otherwords, unless I have a NEW PERRIN inlet hose, they will not help me. Well I am SOOOO freakin sorry I couldn't afford a new one. Since I bought the hose used, I know you will not help me. Since I got it used, I guess I will go ahead and scratch that PERRIN logo off of my inlet pipe since you don't want to claim it anymore. When I go to a car show, I will be sure to put tape over all the perrin logos that are inside my engine bay. Thanks for the strong representation! I know that many companies do not give warranties, support, for the life of their products. But give me a break, if you had time to email me back, you had time to send me the document. JERKS! You just lost a customer because there are businesses that WILL help you regardless if you bought your part new or not. Thanks for your time Perrin, but I have to run and go search for the info I was looking for from you guys. Thanks for NOTHING!

wow.

if you just tell them it's used they'll email you the directions. they just don't want sellers redistributing the instructions for the same reasons they don't post them for download on their website.

I think the email I sent them that says, "hey, I got your inlet hose and need help." I think that tells them that I have it whether its new or used. If not, then they are a few cards short of a full deck.

you're pissed because they didn't translate that into "I bought a used part and need instructions" ?

If a seller really wanted those instructions, he'd have em! Unless they are sent in the mail on actual paper, they are no more secure than a door without a lock.

Ok, lets see, if I told them I have the part, and they asked me for a receipt, they obviously don't think its new because otherwise, they'd send me the instructions. What else could they be. USED!

"I am at a loss here, I have your turbo inlet hose but I am not sure how to hook up my catch can due to the 1 less fitting your hose has over stock. Could you direct me on how to hook up the catch can??? Do I use the PCV hose, or do I use the rocker hose??? Thanks in advance, by the way, the hose looks pretty! Great product!
