Fake "NAS" injection
i heard that on our RS's, we can make a MINI NAS injection. 1st you empty your wind shield wsher fluid, then connect the hose to the small hose that sits right ontop of the intake manifold and then put like rubbing alcohol or an alcohol. you just press the window washer buttom and you get 10-20hp. i can see how it working, but i dont belive it. stupid stuff? im not going ot try it.

yeah, it's called Naturally Aspirated Stupidity and it's good for 10-20hysterical points.
obviously, if you do this it won't be reliable and it won't be a good way to get hp, even if it does make any power. you'd probably just throw your ECU into limp-home mode and over time do serious damage to your engine. the alcohol-injected cars of the hot rod era were carbuerated and you could tune them by tightening bolts. with a modern ECU you can't just jerry-rig your car to breathe alcohol. it's like saying you can gain HP by dumping some absolut in your gas tank. |

my buddy had to rig a similar setup to move an old pickup a couple of blocks because his boss didnt want to waste money on a towtruck when the fuel pump died
he rerouted the washer spray line to the intake filled the washer bottle with gas (using the ever-clever inhaling siphon method into a coffee cup) then he put the truck in low gear and tap the spray button and let it chug along... it worked. only had to put the fire out 3 times. by the time he made it down the street the entire top of the motor was melted, every electrical connector and hose was destroyed. good idea!!! at least it was a beater... |

You would need to have some type of orifice to induce a nice spray pattern. You would also want to center it on the manifold. Other than that it will prevent detonation and add a small amount of power. I don't see why it would throw a code.
Good luck |

"Say goodby to NEON"...
Read THIS: http://www.ag.auburn.edu/users/gparmer/articles/neon/
informative, yet very funny... classic quote from the article: "The motor took first gear launches at 2000RPM with cylinder pressures that should have shot the plugs through the hood, and exhaust gas temps that were slightly hotter than the surface of the sun." |
