Default 245's on 17x8 wheels on WRX?

I need to know if I can put 245/40/17 Pirelli P-Zero Nero's on 17 x 8's on my 02 WRX? I don't want to roll my fenders and I don't want any rubbing. Will it work or are the tires too big?

As far as the tire, yes, a 245 will work, but it'll depend on your specific wheel offset, or more plainly, where the tire is located between the strut and quarter lip. More than probably you'll be ok, but you won't know for certain without some calculations.

225 tire is the best tire choice for a 8" wheel performance wise.

I'd take a 235/40 or 245/40 on an 8" wheel anyday.

225/45 is best suited for a 7.5" wheel, although I'm going to be stuffing a 235/40 on my 7.5's once the 615 comes out in that size.

235/45 would fit fine on the rim...but it's slightly too tall for the WRX. That helps highway mileage, but hurts your gearing for flat out acceleration.

And krazy...I would challenge you to find anybody who will say that a 225/45 will outperform a 235/40 on an 8" rim.

thanks. reason why i brought up 45s is because i was on 40s when i had 18" X 7.5" rims.. with that combo the rims were very vulnerable to damage. i just got some 17's X 8" now.

It is a sedan. I think the offset is like 46 or 48, I can't remember.

I have a set on my 2004 STi right now. These will fit any WRX with ease. Lowered or stock height.

My setup:
245/40/17 - Pzero Nero M+S
Rota Torques 17x8 +48mm offset 5x100

no rubbing what so ever.

Oh yeah and they're for sale

1000 miles on the wheels and tires. I bought these thinking I'd be driving the car around all winter and it's been laid up for 3 months because it's under the knife.

How much are you looking to get for your wheels and tires? What color are your torques?

$900 is my price but silver is not my color. I'm only looking for bronze. Thanks anyway.
