Arrow new pics of "project L" & orlando meet pics!

snagged the boss's digital camera for the weekend, and since my car was clean, it was picture day again! i got some better exterior shots with nice dramatic sunset lighting, which covers up (most of) the hideous green-ness of the agean blue paint when it's in direct sunlight.

i snapped new pics of my revised intake setup (now the adam-spec JCS intake), and the handy $3 ghetto fabulous professional looking bracket i made to keep it in place, and to keep it from vibrating the MAF to death. there's also a before and after showing the stock brakes vs. the STi brakes, and since everyone wanted to see better pics of it, there's more of the infamous prodrive WR exhaust. plus the sabelt 4 point install...i did leave out the proECM install...ran out of disk space. now the only place to go from here is to turbo or swap in a newer engine...

there's also about 20 pics of the big orlando meet from earlier this afternoon. enjoy!

Excellent. L's kick ass. My own 'project L' is limited to free mods since I have zero money. Pics look pretty good though.
How do you like your intake? How's your high/low end with it? I wouldn't mind an intake but I still have to figure out how to custom fab one.

Oooh, how much for the 4-point belt? I noticed how much the stock belt is lacking today at my first auto-x

the intake started life as a JCS intake that i bought off of brysimpreza for $100, and then i got a lenghth of aluminum pipe that extended the filter further up into the engine bay...it's slightly flared out at the end so it fits over the end of the intake so there's a tight seal. he included something very similar when i bought the intake, but for some reason i couldn't get it to fit, so i went and found a shorter one.

before i was just running it at the stock length, and it would absolutely SCREAM above 4500rpm...as in EVERY head on the block would turn if you stepped on it. now it's a bit quieter and throatier sounding, plus it seems to work much better, with a minimal loss of top end power. i never noticed any low end loss with the intake at the stock length, except it would bog in traffic in hot weather when you started up until it sucked all the hot air out of the engine bay. now that's pretty much gone, although i'd still like to get a 'proper' hood on my car that has some vents in it to keep the intake cool before the nice hot FL summer weather gets in full swing (yeah, i know, too late).

the 4pt cost me $80...i got a little bit of a deal on it, so they usually run about 90-95. WELL worth the money spent. i was about to start working on suspension mods, then i put the harness in and was amazed at the difference. so much of those 'negative' handling characteristics you run across in and auto-x type situation is simply your body fighting the forces of physics. plus, my long commute isn't as tiring wearing the harness. you'd be amazed how much energy you expend keeping yourself in the seat. although i don't reccommend this, since 4 points aren't 'street legal' per se.

Just to warn you, Florida is not that great. Before I moved down here, I thought it was like some vacation paradise place but after while you start to realize it's not. It's just like where you're from, except its a million degrees year round and insects reign supreme. Visiting is fine, but living here is not that great. Then again the heat makes girls wear less clothes, which is good.

Maybe I'll go to Lowe's and see if they have any 2.5"- 3" aluminum piping I could make into an intake, like AC ducting or something.

trust me, when you have 7 months of the year with torrential rain, you'll soon wish you were there!

specially when most of the women have to wear long coats and look like eskimo's!

saying that theres something about the long black leather boots they wear.................
