Default Tuning the S-AFC

Hi,

I've had an S-AFC on my Impreza 2.5RS for almost a year now, and even on my naturally aspirated car it makes a huge difference in power and smoothness on the engine. When it comes to tuning it, you have 2 options:
1- Take it to a dyno, hook the car up to a wideband air / fuel meter and have the shop dyno tune it for you. This is the best way to go about it.
2- Tune it yourself. For this you will need a wideband O2 air fuel ratio monitor and also preferably an EGT. I tried numerous times tuning it with the voltage readout from the narrowband O2 sensor on my car and ended up being way off. With the wideband O2 all you have to do is make a couple runs in 3rd / 4rth gear at WOT and watch the A/F ratio. If it is lean, go on the high map and add fuel. If it is rich, lean it out on the map. I run my low throttle position at 20% and the high at 60%.
I used a PLX Devices M-300 air/fuel ratio monitor which I bought from Streetrays (PM him; he's a vendor on this site). He had the lowest price I could find anywhere. Here is my setup, and the correction map I am running:

Feel free to ask any more questions.

Thanx alot for your help but there is a serious problem! I live in Ankara, Turkey. and there isnt a 4X4 dyno here in ankara. people aren't in to subarus as well. and I don't really think I'll be able to get any parts from the states because the tax rate for the imports are really high here! isn't there any other way?

You can road tune it but you NEED a good wideband air/fuel ratio sensor with a display. There are a number of them on the market from companies like Zeitronix, etc. There are a number of european companies that sell wideband sensor kits as well, Bosch being the first that comes to mind.

Shoot for 11.2:1 AFR under full boost at WOT.

Yeah right. You managed to buy an Apexi S-AFC, you can manage to buy a wideband air fuel ratio meter.

The thing is I'm half Australian and I had the SAFC shipped to me by my mom from australia. I had the subaru service shop connect the thing for me but I couldn't set the thing up so right now the air fuel function is not working. Anyway thanks alot guys I think I'll be able find some O2 sensors...
