Default Vinyl wrapping roof. Opinions?

So I have a DGM 2012 wrx hatch. Right after I got the car I had my snowboards fly off my roof with a huge gust of wind and put about a 6" scratch/dent in my roof and spoiler. It's not that bad, but you know how it is, it bothers me. I'm looking at doing something different. I have yet to see a DGM hatch with a wrapped roof and spoiler, how would you guys think it would look with a gloss black or a matte carbon wrap or just matte black finish?

In addition to this, I am planning on doing the spoiler raise extension from perrin.

Yay or nay? Thanks!
Sullivan

(also, do you think this will cover the dent? Maybe I fill it with a paste or something? I have no clue)

I have my roof and spoiler wrapped. I love how it looks but if you look close you can see imperfections. It was hard for the guy to get it perfect without me taking off my roof or spoiler. It's a very subtle thing almost no one besides subie enthusiasts even notice it. I think it'd look good but extremely subtle on a DGM. As for the dent I think you should probably get that pulled before you wrap the roof because that will either be a bubble or stay a dent and you probably wouldn't wanna get that fixed with the wrapped roof.

Thanks for the reply and opinion. What do you think it would look better in? Gloss black, matte black, or carbon fiber

It will look like crap if you have a dent. I would say, get the dent fixed and then consider the vinyl.

I've never been a big fan of carbon fiber, especially the carbon fiber vinyl dynoc by 3M or whatever it's called. With that being said I did the gloss black because I think matte black can sometimes look dirty but I like the look of both. On the DGM I think the matte black would look really good and probably be a little more noticeable than the gloss.

Gloss black if anything. At least in my opinion.

But before you do anything have the dent fixed. You may even be able to get the scratch repaired as well. That way you wouldn't need to wrap it.

I've wrapped my SWP with gloss black and it turned out amazing. But I would advise to fix any dents / imperfections. If you can see it before the wrap, you will see it after the wrap. Some cases even more since black shows every imperfection!

I think it's clear you should get the dent pulled. The vinyl won't do anything but make it more apparent. It will also be stressed in that area.

As far as color, with the DGM, I say go for the CF. DGM is probably the only color that it will look really nice on. It will be subtle but definitely different. I'm going against my better judgement here and I highly encourage you to do the CF. It's already a dark gray color as it is.

Oh, and how the hell did your boards fly off? Clips open? I don't know what I would have a higher concern for...car or boards!

Pics of a roof wrapped DGM hatch would be awesome if anyone HAS done it. I have an 09, and I have been leaning towards the matte black...

definitely CF and a few spray can clear coats or maybe semi-gloss/gloss cf (I believe hexis has those). However get the dent fixed first. If it's a chunk of missing paint just use some touch up paint and sand it down to level it with the surface. It's a little ghetto but it gets the job done and you won't even see it after the vinyl is on.

I think CF wrap on DMG will look very nice. Make sure the CF isn't a very dark shade.

Personally, I've always found "wrapping" any portion of your car to be one of the most "ricer" things you can do.

Hey guys, come check out my carbon fiber sticker roof job... it's hella-fresh.

i would do carbon or matte not gloss. gloss would draw too much attention on dgm i think.

also, di-noc sucks, use 3m 1080 it is a much better material. while i only wrapped interioir pieces in it, it is a good material to work with and much better looking as well than the di-noc

Get it repainted gloss black. It may be harder to reverse, but it will look better and last longer. Also, the scratch will be gone and the dent can be leveled. I would honestly get a quote for painting, It's usually cheaper than you might think.
