Post Seat (Recaro, Sparco, etc.) experiences & recommendations

In the "Legacy Members?" thread, I noticed wagonist posted that he has "Bride(Japan) seats" in his 98 GT wagon; this got me thinking.

Aftermarket seats have always held an interest for me because my wife has back problems and wants something with more lumbar support than the stock Legacy seats. (We have a 91 Legacy L wagon and want to buy either a 00 Legacy L or GT wagon, but that's another story. Yes, I know the GT has a power driver's seat, but it's only 6-way adjustable.)

I like the idea of aftermarket seats but my wife will only consider this if they have the same fabric found in a 00 Legacy. I'd rather not buy aftermarket seats and then have an upholstery shop replace the fabric, as I feel/hope the manufacturer would have better quality control.

Instead, I'd the Subaru fabric installed by the seat manufacturer. (I realize this would be custom, probably expensive, and maybe not even possible.)

Anyone with experience getting an aftermarket seat reupholstered with a fabric that matches your car's interior?

And, what's been your experience with aftermarket seats?
