Anyway, I say it's your car so do it if you want. I've thought that air ride might look good on a wagon. I don't think it would look all that good on a sedan.

Definatly post pictures if you do it.

do what you want, its your car, not every suby owner wants to set up their car for the track, some might want it strictly for show.

i know praxxis makes air suspension for the wrx

this is really funny to me because am not just a suby owner, but also a minitrucker. i could not imagine bagging my car. it would lose all that i love about it. keep bags on things they belong on, and look good on. granted not all airride systems are made to be "ridin dirty" like someone said above, but none are exactly "performance related". we have bagged old muscle cars just about as much as we have trucks, but old muscle cars are not meant for cornering by any means, rather running straight lines on the track, then coming back to look pretty. its your car, do what you want, but the general consensus is going to say that bags on a wrx is teh ghey

then do it and see how you like it, but i have done bags for years and i can tell you that you are not going to have the handling you had before. if you want bags buy an old nissan hardbody and put it to the ground, not your wrx..... the only one being a "girly man" is you..... this is where bags go VVVVVVVVVV

sorry, but that is incorrect, in fact its exact opposite. most luxury vehicles use air suspension for a better ride (lincoln, range rover, etc.) i had a bodydropped 98 s10 that road like a cadillac. in a car its harder to make it ride right, but it can be done.

The major issue on bagging a subaru (or most compact cars for that matter) is the basics of their suspension. Subaru uses a strut set up which limit the amout of travel the wheel has. Where as most trucks have leaf spring in back and control arms up front with almost limitless wheel travel. On a truck you are able to make frame and body modifications with out dramaticly affecting the functionality of the vehicle. However, on most compact cars you are limited to working with in the confinds of the stock body structure.

Air Bags also are progressive by nature so they limit the ability to be used as a true sport suspension. Plus they tend to be heavy. These are atributes you do not want on a sports car. While Cadillacs and Lincolns are more designed to comfort over sport and there for can gain from the progressive nature of the air ride to absorbe the road.

If you plan on installing bags, don't plan on using your car as a rally or auto cross vehicle. It would only be used as a cruiser, (not that that is a bad thing though). I still would like to see it done, just not on my car.
