Question E-Codes for '00 Legacy?

Does anyone know where I can find E-Code headlights for my '00 Legacy GT? Please don't say England or Japan or any other RHD country, I drive on the right side of the road

I'm very interested in finding a set, particularly after taking a loonnngggg look at the front of my car and realizing that there is no simple way to add decent driving lights. There may also be others interested if someone wants to try to do a group buy.

TIA,
-wdb

Default questions

what are "e-code" lights?

and are altezza-style rear lights available for 00+ BH Legacies?

Default Euro headlight assemblies

E-codes are headligts which adhere to European lighting standards. Typically the beam patterns are far superior to SAE (US-spec) lights. My hope is that Euro Legacy headlights will bolt on to my US car without too much fiddling.

Cool

http://lighting.mbz.org has some info on E-code lights. Daniel Stern might be able to source the LHD euro housings.

A sharp dealer parts person can call up SOA and find the specific part you want (i.e. you ask for the headlights off a German MY00 legacy sedan with h7/h1 bulbs, etc.)

Alternatively try one of these part numbers (can be ordered thru SOA but won't show up at subaruparts) there are quite a lot of potential part numbers for the 00+

RH lamp (for LHD) with auto-leveler (production to 0104) 84001ae221,
matching LH lamp is 84001ae231

RH lamp (for LHD) (no idea on leveler) (prod from 0105) 84001ae380 or 84001ae400
matching LH is 84001ae390 or 84001ae410

They should more or less just bolt on though I think they have
different bulbs/harnesses in europe.

I think there was a pair for sale in here a month or so ago. The issue is whether or not they'll fit. As with most JDM/EDM Leg parts, no one wants to be the first one to try something out.

Yes I know. Daniel Stern was selling them. I contacted him and said that they bolted right up to a 2000 OB. Just needed a little fancy wiring for the side driving lights and single turn signal bulb in the front (also requires the flasher for that reason). I have the part numbers, just wanted to know if anyone actually followed through and picked a set up. I know DS sold the set he had as I emailed him back and they're gone

I did, however find out about a dealer in the UK that has shipped stuff to the US before. I have emailed them and await a responce. If I can get poeple interested it might make them more willing to do a larger shippment. Similar to a group buy. Or do I have to be the first one and see if they fit. Then you all will buy 'em...
