Yes.

Depression doesn't come in a clearly labeled bottle. Even someone who has experienced depression before may not recognise it right away.

well i dont think that i am depressed
i jsut feel weird as of late and i was wondering what it could be
i thought it was depression but im normaly a motavated/happy person

The danger in assuming that depression is a physiological disorder makes it more likely that you'll suffer long-term depression. The disease assumption opens the door to two cognitive distortions that can amplify one another:
  • I am depressed therefore I must have a disease.
  • I have a disease therefore this happiness is short-lived.
Realize that everybody experiences depression from time to time. If you are in a funk and can't seem to get out of it, it's a good idea to see a therapist. A good one can really help you see things differently, in a good way.
