Default looking for a few things (newbie to baja here)

looking for some sites to read up on them more as i have a 2005 baja now.
And i am looking to upgrade the exhuast and intake and would like to get it to push some more boost aswell. Hopefully some other more baja orientied sites can help me with that.

Thanks all,
Dustin

oh yeah also what car is our baja modled after. I would think its off the legacy as it looks kinda like it. And the motor is the same L as the STI 2.5 so i would assume its either that engine detuned or a variant of that motor as well. I really need some help to give my car some more pep.

as of now i found a under drive pulley kit for very cheap, dont know if its worth any extra power or not.

The car is basically a legacy outback. I already answered your engine question in teh otehr thread (shouldnt cross post).

Pulleys are not worth it. You can get a LOT more power in other ways. You could simply bolt on stock STI parts and have a significant gain in power.

what kinda parts should i do, like i said never done anything with subaru's before. Just looking to upgrade the power and get it running a bit faster. Not looking to make a race car out of it. Have any items you would recomend ot add power?

If you want to keep it simple like exh, then you could do a catless uppipe (Bosal makes the STock STI pipe) or otehr aftermarket ones. some may eliminate youre EGT sensor though so think about that. ALso a downpipe would be helpful. There is one company who makes a baja catback, but for the price you could get somehting custom made.

Other than that, go on ebay or the classifieds and pick up an STI VF39 turbo, sti intercooler, and an STI ecu and you can add 80HP reliably with factory parts for just alittle over $1,000

not looking to do intercooler or turbo swaps. i was hoping a simple intake upgrade, ECU upgrade (to kick the boost up, assuming this is the only way?) and some exhuast work would do the trick. Gonna look into the up and down pipes right now. I had though about those before hand.

What would i be looking for the up and down pipe the one for WRX right as we use that turbo correct? or i could just make them catless or better yet build my own as i weld and what not so thats not a problem.

PS-what modes have you done to your baja?

also do they have any hand held flasher that can reflash the stock ecu with a new program or do i have to send in my ECU or buy another ECU from them. And who is not crazy price wise that i can get this done by?

Also anyone have info on intakes i read the intake FAQ and it seems my best bet is to just pull the stock silencer out and maybe add a highflow filter and call it a day.

can someone give me a link to this stp intake that is comming out by chance. Lol i love how hard it is to understand how to mod these damn things. Why cant it be like my mustang add a intake,h-pipe, dumps, pulleys, and a 125nitrous kit and i go low 12's on Nitto drag radials. But with this thing its soo fancy that the baja (from the limited reading i have been doing) doesnt like to be messed with things liek over boosting and boost creep problems happen. Makes me love my much simpler ford.

A lot of it is right there. You should really figure out how to search. This was posted in the 2.5 turbo forum that you posted in earlier.

yeah i am not good with the search engine on this site at all sorry. Its mostly becuase i am not sure what parts work with what yet. I think the intake setup is trhe same as the legacy 2.5 GT correct? so there intake setups can work with us.

Our intake setup is the exact same as the Forester XT and STI, It is really close to the WRX as well. The LGT may be alittle different seeing how the turbo, intercooler and manifold are significantly different. I Dont know...
