Exhausts for outback

i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on an exhaust for an 97outback? cat back or headers back. An would it be worth it? what if any extra performance would i achive? I was thinkin of a 2 inch straight pipe all the way back? No cat or muffler

Any help would be apperciated. Thanks

Sobelizard109 - the only true equal length header available for USDM EJ25's will be the Brullen Headers. Also, the only available cat-back for the Outback is made by Brullen too. Contact iON Performance for more info.

Just find a muffler that you like and fits the car (eg. Apex N1...mine) then get a custom pipe put on. You can do it from the cat back or eliminate them. I don't think you will notice much in performance gains. You will lose low end torque but gain negligable power in the high end. This mod would mostly be for sound.

MRT can do a bolt on 2.25" muffler for Outbacks, you just have to ask for it. You could run this with your stock midpipe or have a 2.25" one made that ran from the flex joint back.

P.S. I am getting one of the MRT mufflers for my '97 Outback so I will post something once I get it and get it put on.
