Weapon R makes a cold air attachment, don't they? You should look into it. Looks good though. How do you like it?

It sounds great, but I find myself not giving it enough gas, so it bucks at low rpm. I didn't want to put on the metal emblems. I will be getting my strut tower bar today, I hope. Plus I would like to pant my belt cover, and all the yellow parts red. I will post pic's when complete.

Thanks all

Thumbs up

I just got that same intake, polished aluminum, no pics yet, but I'll get some up soon. It does sound pretty good and noticebly smoother acceleration. I got screwed on the reducers, they gave me one blue one and two silver. I have like 10 different colors in my engine bay right now. Hope to have all my hoses yellow too match the caps on my liquids. Oh yeah, how did you get the mounting bracket on? I wasn't sure where it was supposed to go, and it didnt seem to have holes drilled where it should have. I see from the pic you twisted yours to fit it on, I'll have to see about doing that. Looks real good though!

Later

Cool

Actually, I have worse gas mileage now cause I have an auotmatic and I constantly want to punch the gas to hear the howl of the intake How hard would it be to take out my auto and drop in a 5 speed?.....

Looks good!

I've debated going that route with some of the local third party options here, but the problem is with Tokyo summers, it gets incredibly hot under the hood with the twin turbos and you really need every bit of cool air that you can get to squeeze power out of the engine...

Enjoy.

Have a Nice Day?

YOU POOR BASTARD!!!
Just imagine having to put up with 1 turbo - not to mention 2! Any time those twin turbines are too much for you to deal with I have a nice (2,400 miles) EJ25 NA that I would trade straight up for your engine. good luck
Tim
I am kidding about the first line.

Question

Is the B4 a 4 cylinder? I thought you couldnt put a twin turbo on a 4 cylinder, like the block couldnt stand up to the stress or something. Just curious...

The B4 is a 2.0 DOHC motor just like the WRXen, it's just that the Legacy has more room.

As for stress, those blocks are pretty hardcore and a lot of Japanese tuners push them pretty far.

Question

So technically if we wanted we could add a twin turbo to the state-side 2.5L (if we had the sapce in the engine compartment). I would imagine we would have to performance tune/rebuild the engine in order to handle the stress though, right? Just curious...

Yes, techniqually you could twin turbo a 2.5 but then you run into the problem of a single turbo running in the 6-8 lbs of boost on the EJ25 for a safe # compared to 13+lbs for the EJ20, the EJ25 is an open deck design, the cylinders and their walls are not designed for that much boost. Also the cost and design for a twin turbo set up would be waaaaaayyyyy killer. For that much work/money it would be cheaper to import a EJ20 twin turbo and do the wiring harness switch over.
Just my 2 sense worth. My opinion is we keep buggin' the hell out of SOA until they import the EJ20 turbo for the Legacy.

Sounds good to me I mean they already have the WRX here, why not spring for the B4 as well? Or at least the engine....
