What color is bird crap?

Default Clunk sound like a tight bolt being broken under high torque?!

Here's a good one:

I'm navigating at very slow (parking lot or lower, maybe even parkING) speeds, and I hear a clunk/pop noise, like the sound of a really tight bolt being broken loose under lots of torque. This occurs rarely, but usually while I'm turning AND rolling over a speed bump/jagged gutter/pothole. Clunk/pop NEVER occurs over ~5mph.

What could the clunk/pop be coming from? I have already checked sway bars and endlinks, and strut tower bar, everything else is stock. Symptoms just started about two weeks ago. What else is in the suspension that can make that noise? Hopefully the lower strut bolts aren't loose. Could a spring have gotten unseated or something?

Hmmm, what happened two weeks ago?

Oh, right! You jumped your car at rim of the world!

Spring could be unseated, certainly. Broken bearings in your front tophats, perhaps. Lower control arm bushings could be shot/bent. Broken ball joints. Damaged hubs?

Does the noise occur just turning and moving? Are you putting on the brakes as well?

Yes, well, I'm proud of that. Not many can say they've had all four wheels in the air at the same time.

So, basically anything in the entire front or rear suspension could be broken? The noise only occurs when I'm moving ~5mph or less, and VERY intermitently. Not even half the time, more like 1/10 of the times. So it's really hard to track down. I'd say that when it's happening 1/10 of the time, 1/5 again of THOSE times, it's in the rear. Very distinctively, not questionably so. So again, hard to even tell what kind of driving causes it; the only common factor I can think of is 5mph or less over rough terrain, and turning. (speed bumps, driveways, etc) Sometimes under braking, sometimes not.

I don't even know where to begin with this. I'm kind of planning to ignore it until something gets worse and more easily identifiable.

....find a place that it happens...take 'car guy' friend.....friend(or you) drive car while the other one walks next to car to isolate the noise.....try with hood/trunk up/open.....ride in trunk or on front of car is necessary.

Definately check your wheel bearings/axle nuts(cause of a clunk I had).
