Default Need final say on fitment issue.

In the not so distant future, I'm going to be upgrading my front brakes to STi Brembo's. I have two questions:

1. Does my BE (MY 2000 LGT Limited) have the "bigger" brake master cylinder that the STi Brembo's require?

2. I'm going to need bigger wheels. I am looking to get the Rota SDR's in 18x8. I DO have lowered suspension (iON springs.) Will I be able to fit 245's without rolling? Maybe 245/40/18's?

Thanks.

Apparently the STI has the largest Master Cylinder that Subaru uses. I think that ours is smaller than the WRX. I have not heard of anyone having problems using the stock Master Cylinder with BBK's.

PHATsuby should know about the wheel size, try and search for the size that he was running.

wheel size is one thing. offset is another. the front calipers are really wide and for some unknown reason, subaru decided to mount them on rotors with really short hubs. even my BBS LM F1's are 2mm too shallow to clear them.

Im not sure about the SDR's but you'll be looking for either a lower offset wheel (which can be harsh on your bearings) or go find a set of wheels with almost stock spec offset but has spokes that can avoid the caliper.

As for tire size, unless you do some fender rolling or some other custom bodywork, I dont see 245/40/18 working very well on a lowered car. 235 is pretty iffy. I went with 225/40/18.

Well, I just found out they don't made SDR's in an 18" wheel, so I'm looking at the Formula Mesh design in an 18x8 size. They have a +48 offset, and according to THIS link, they will fit over the STi Brembo's just fine.

The real question is what sort of sized rubber should I but over them? I want to go as wide as I possibly could without rolling the fenders.

Thanks.

Ben told me that JoeT ran 245's without issue. Might want to send him a PM.
