Depending on engine displacement (2.2 vs. 2.5) and transmission (5spd vs 4EAT) options I *think* you can say roughly between ~16.5 and 19 seconds 1/4 mile ETs for the "second generation" 1995-1999 Legacys.

Obtaining times in this range involve a certain amount of border line abusive driving techniques.
These times can be brought down with performance modifications, however.

Both of my BD 2.5GTs, when stock, ran around 16 flat at about 83 or 84mph. Both 5-speeds.

There was just a thread about this so very pointless topic.

Are you really getting a Legacy to run in the quarter? If not, don't worry about it, test drive the car and see if you like it.

Dude, he's just asking a question. He didn't even mention that he was thinking of getting a Legacy or not. No need to get on him about running a Legacy down the 1/4 mile.

I certainly didn't buy mine to do this, but I can tell you, from experience, that it will run mid-low 16s.

Sorry, it just annoys me to have people do this:

them: what's the quarter mile time?
us: slow
them: oh, Legacys really suck

I kinda agree with mark.

To keep this on topic, the mustang dyno said 18.8 @ 68mph for my 2.2 AT.

I run around an 18 according to ghetto timing...I was accelerating onto an onramp on a 70mph highway (it was up a hill too...)

I drag my 90 wagon all the time!

14.5 at 92 best so far!

Looking for a 13.2 soon! (may not happen, but I'm looking! )
