Look for any of us that appear to have gotten 4 hours of sleep and spent way too much time playing Air Hockey at the lowell brewery.

After I run in the first heat, I'm getting in my car, and falling asleep to the sound of rain on my windshield.

WTF was I thinking staying out until 2am last night????????

congrats to all the WRX's and Evo's that ran today, your numbers were very impressive. granted you guys had the all wheel advantage, you guys still did well. i ran my 710's all day and i had no problems with them. granted my times werent fast, i still figured them out in the rain. i found that if i dont over gas it when your shooting gates at an angle, i was fine. once i tapped it a little too much though, the rear end kicked out. how convenient was it that the rain stopped on my way out the gate . oh well, i learned a lot about my v710's in the rain, and auto crossing in the rain for that matter. someone actually raced their v710's and there street tires and said they only had .5 seconds faster on their street tires, so it wouldnt have been worth taking the kumhos off. well im off to dry out and to get some rest. tomorrow looks like a fast course, so im anxious to see how that goes. good luck gentlemen, and ill see you bright and early. Yeah, V710's can def be fast in the rain, as proven by KC's time.

Good day today, need to go get sleep for tomorrow now.

how'd everyone end up doing?

I ran AS today and learned that I really really need to stop procrastinating and get the v710's and wheels. I think 275/40's should do the trick

I ended up 7th in class (I think there were 15 in AS) today...so I did beat some of those race tire people on my stock bridgestones

i ended up 2nd in SM2-7, which is the RX-7's that are too slow to run with the fast cars in SM2 (miatas, z06, gt3) and 13th overall in SM2. granted its no where near where i should be with my car and set up, but im still learning as i go along. i had a lot of fun though, and to me, that was all that matters.
i love the tein set up and the V710's are awesome. i was doing things expecting to get sideways, and the car cuts like surgery. The_Wolf, i met you at the gate. i was the one who said i was the newbie that everyone picks on.
Anyone going to the fathers day event? ill be there again with SLO Motorsports again.

Results are up:

http://www.scca.com/Event/Result.asp?Ref2=284

Nice seeing the new guys out there mixing it up and the old friends you see once every year or so.

I ran a 68.970 in the wet.... and a 48.246 today for a third run... .001 faster than my 2nd). Woulda/shoulda/coulda been a 47.8... don't we all have those days?

If there's one thing that I *did* learn... I need a proper set of wet tires.... before nationals.

the only reason I held on to fourth is because I ran my Hankook's

"v710's are faster in these conditions!"

Great weekend indeed...congrats to kC for some fast and consistent runs - seriously, 0.001?? you should get an extra trophy for that!

Congrats as well to the STX guys that schooled me. Byron and Josh, great driving! It was also nice to see another SRP out there, even though he beat me too.

The most amusing part of the weekend for me was after my last run on Sunday. I thought I heard my front passenger-side strut clunking during the last run, so I was kinda bummed that it happened so such a low-mileage (or, kilometerage?) v.7 suspension. I opened the hood to check the torque on the strut top bolts, and what did I find but a 12mm wrench sitting between the strut top and the fender; I'm pretty sure that was the source of the "clunking" sound I heard. DSG must have left in there when they installed it two weeks ago. (You guys want that back??)

Anyway, still need a few more runs to learn said new suspension...luckily, sounds like next weekend's event will feature a similar course, according to PZ:

"My intention for this Sunday's Solo event is to run Sunday's course backwards with just a few adjustments."

I was fairly close on saturday in BSP due to the rain, but sunday I got smoked/drove horrible. My last run I decided to use third gear. Out of the chicago box it wouldnt go into third so I was coasting for 3 seconds. Then on the backside, I went for third again and found fifth. Tried to drop back down to second and found 4th. I was really frustrated for driving so horribly Almost spun out in the second to last slalom. I seem to be going backwards in auto-x skills , grrrrrr.
