Default Weird UTEC symbols help plz!

Hey Guys.. when running the dashboard on my UTEC, I was trying to get a log captured... and in the middle of capturing a log it went to a weird format.
Here is what it looks like, you can see how it goes from standard format, to a bunch of weird numbers... please help me!

FYI.... its ver 5.0, and running 19200, everything is set up correctly.

Were you running the dashboard or logging? Or were you logging & then you tried to switch to something else? You will get noise if you're saving the log & switch to something else without pausing or stopping the file capture. Does it always do this when you're logging?

You cannot log like that from the dashboard. Those "funky" characters are controls that tell the terminal to move the character position. You also will not get data in the same order. Log like you did at the start of that file from the #1 logger.

I was starting and stopping file capture, and I was doing it from the dashboard like I usually do. I usually have teh dashboard up, and go to capture from there. I havent tried it since. But when I did another capture the same time, just renamed the file... the whole text file came out like that.

Would you happen to be running a Serial to USB Converter?

The first cheap converter I used was telling me all my maps were corrupted when uploading. After a quick chat to TXS they said some converters work fine and others stuff up. Went out and grabbed a Belkin unit which has worked flawlessly ever since.

You problem is strange as it has happen mid way through logging?

Nope just using com port 1. I will try running another log today, I just havent ran a log since it stopped "pinging". It was also kind of weird, on another note when I got to WOT my check engine light would flash and I was thinking that it was pinging, but it was actually the car adding too much fuel. I added sea foam and it stopped doing this. How adding a cleaner stops the car from adding too much fuel I dont know, but it works so I am not going to complain.
